DESCRIPTION: This elegant, historic (circa 1890) brick townhouse is located on a lovely tree-lined street in the center of Capitol Hill within walking distance of the U.S. Capitol, Eastern Market and Union Station. It is the perfect apartment for a discerning single, couple or travel companions visiting our Nation’s Capital. This lovely lower level apartment is newly and very tastefully refurbished with a new modern kitchen and bath, hardwood floors throughout, all new furniture, and striking original artwork. The spacious 750sf of living space is notable for its high ceilings and exposed brick wall. This sleek urban 1BR apartment is just 5 blocks from the US Capitol grounds. This is a quintessential Capitol Hill brownstone on a quiet, beautiful tree lined street. You will find this to be the perfect Washington location whether you are in DC for business on The Hill, visiting family or tourism. AMENITIES: • Accommodates 2 people (queen bed; Convertible queen sofa); • Keyless entry; • Stocked kitchen for dining and meal preparation; • Granite kitchen counters and island with bar stools; • Strong WIFI for work or research; • AC units and baseboard heating so you are in control of your climate; • 42 inch Plasma TV for your entertainment; • Stacking washer/dryer in the apartment. • Visitor Parking Pass for Capitol Hill LOCATION: Capitol Hill radiates a heady sense of geo-political significance with a small town feel. You're just a few blocks away from landmarks like the Supreme Court, U.S. Capitol, Senate and House Office Buildings, and the Library of Congress. At the same time, Hill locals have managed to instill a sense of "neighborhood." It's easy to see why the area's residents cherish their brownstones and tree-lined streets. You'll be able to run most errands on foot, not to mention walking to a variety of restaurants and cafes around Eastern Market and Pennsylvania and Massachusetts Avenues. You'll be near the 11 Smithsonian Museums along our National Mall including the Air and Space Museum, the National Gallery of Art, Sackler and Freer Galleries of African and Asian Art respectively, National Museum of American History, the National Portrait Gallery & American Art Gallery and the list goes on! TRANSPORTATION: Leave your car behind! Nearby Union Station is a transportation hub for the mid-Atlantic region. The station contains two train lines (AMTRAK and local MARC trains). Union Station is also home to Washington’s subway Metro Red Line, Metro and Circulator buses, tour operators, and rental cars and bikes. ? If you do have a car, public parking is available at Union Station and there is restricted street parking. REVIEW: My husband and I stayed at this lovely apartment in an equally wonderful neighborhood during the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC. The apartment is fully equipped and beautifully decorated. Every detail has been tended to and done so in high style. This includes: a lovely sitting area by the front windows, a beautiful bathroom with high-tech features, a fully-equipped kitchen with the latest in appliances, and a lovely bedroom with more-than-adequate closets and shelves. The owners live nearby and are long-time residents of Capitol Hill. They provided written information about the sites in the area and were “just a phone call away” when we were in need of recommendations. The neighborhood is as special as the apartment. The residence is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the Capitol. We took advantage of them all. And, the Metro is a short walk for easy access to the greater DC area. This will always be our “home away from home” when we are in DC. Arlene & Ron
