Turning Point is located in the quiet, picturesque, family-friendly Brigands' Bay neighborhood, which has scenic views, gnarled old live oak trees, Pamlico Sound access, and is perfect for walkers, runners, bikers, kayakers, and kids. We don’t have any fancy stuff -- no hot tub, pool, game room, home theater, or video library. We do have a comfortable, homey, well-maintained, and clean Hatteras beach cottage that is light and airy with warm juniper paneled walls and a cathedral ceiling in the great room. The rooms are large, and the furnishings are tasteful. You won’t feel crowded here. The large great room has sliding glass doors that open onto a deck and onto a furnished screened porch. The big kitchen has ample counter, cabinet, and pantry space, a spacious island, and is very well stocked with everything you will need for your stay. There are three bedrooms and two full baths. The master bedroom and bath are downstairs. Two bedrooms are upstairs, with another bath in between, and open onto an upstairs balcony that overlooks the family room. The master has a queen bed and tv. One bedroom upstairs room has a queen and pullout sofa, the other bedroom has two sets of bunk beds - one is twin over queen and the other is standard twin over twin. The family room has a smart TV with cable and Wi-Fi service and shelves of books, games, and jigsaw puzzles. You can fish and crab from the dock on the canal with its fish-cleaning table and bench. You can tie up your boat at the dock and have access to the Pamlico Sound for more fishing, crabbing, and clamming, or just exploring the shore. There are also two 2-person kayaks at the house for exploring the Pamlico Sound, and four bikes for exploring the neighborhood by street. Turning Point is a Shore Details house, which is an added value to you. Not only will the folks at Shore Details make sure your beds are made with fresh sheets and the house is clean when you arrive (and clean up after you when you leave), but they are also available to help with personal concierge services at no charge to you. They are ready to answer all your questions and help plan the perfect vacation, such as excursions to charter fishing, eco-tours, or sunset cruises. They are also available to help with any maintenance issues that may arise during your stay. In addition, for a fee you can have groceries stocked before you arrive or have a pre-cooked dinner delivered to your cottage. We cater to folks who want to come hang out and enjoy the beach, the sound, the neighborhood, and all the relaxation and adventure this special island has to offer.
