The Romantic Cabin in the woods is owned by well know artist who designed it to be rustic, yet also modern. It has a loft sleeping area that overlooks the living/dining area below, and there is a wood burning fireplace. The location is very private, with a locked gated entrance followed by a mile long road that leads to the cabin in the middle of the forest. Wake up to the sound of waterfalls and birds chirping, and enjoy coffee on the covered deck overlooking the pond. Min Rental 1 Month This Romantic Cabin is extremely private, and is located on the grounds of the Art Studios of a well known local artist. He and his wife own Freedom Run Winery. The space consists of a large open space with beautiful light and double height ceilings and a wood burning fire place. On the raised ground floor there is a full kitchen, full bathroom with soaking tub and a living and dining area leading to a covered deck overlooking the pond. Up an open staircase there is a loft bedroom with queen sized bed and ensuite powder room with bidet. With pre-arrangement, guests who would like to camp on the grounds may be added to the reservation. Owner lives in the area and will be availale if you require anything. You will have full access to the Romantic Cabin in the Woods. If you would like a tour of the 100 acre property, the artist and his wife would be happy to show you the lay of the land and give you a tour of the Art Studios, and if you would like, a tasting at our family run vineyard, Freedom Run Winery which is 4 miles away. You will have as much privacy as you want. The only neighbours that you are likely to see is the artist and his wife, who may be working at the art studio by day. The house is easily accessible to the town of Lockport for local shopping, including quaint antique stores. While you are there you can view the beautiful Tiffany stained glass windows at the First Presbyterian Church. You may wish to take a tour boat up the Erie Canal, see the Lockport Underground Caves, visit the Erie Canal Discovery Center, and just next door is Lake Effect Ice Cream which offers unique flavors like Whiskey Brown Sugar and Frozen Hot Chocolate...yum! There is a thriving art and performing arts community in Lockport so be sure to check out The Palace Theater and The Kenan Center as well as local artists at the Market Street Art Studios. There is so much to do in the area. There are weekly classic car shows, open air farmers markets. Check out the lineup of world class entertainment at the outdoor outdoor concerts at Art Park in Lewiston, where there is a wide variety of great restaurants...we have left a list of some of our favorites in the house. There is also an amazing nature trail at Art Park in Lewiston overlooking the Niagara River where you can actually dip your feet into the crystal clear water, and don't miss the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum in nearby North Tonawanda. It is a short drive to Niagara Falls, one of the most beautiful natural wonders of the world. The locals park on 'Goat Island' and take a short stroll to see the falls. While in Niagara Falls, be sure to check out The Niagara Falls Culinary Institute which is like visiting the kitchen of a five star restaurant, as they sell what the 'chef's in training' create, and they also feature the wine from our family owned, Freedom Run Winery. Less than an hour away from the house you will find the city of Buffalo which is full of wonderful things to discover. Take a tour of The Frank Lloyd Wright house and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery of modern and contemporary art. Check the calendar at The Shea Preforming Arts Center and don't miss having a wonderful meal at The Bijou Grill which is right across the street, or if you like an unusual menu, check out the newest restaurant in town - The Black Sheep, and also another favorite...The Billy Club. Or you could simply relax with a glass of Freedom Run wine, on the deck and BBQ. You will need a car. There is NO HUNTING on the property. Feel free to walk anywhere on the over 100 acre property. There is no wifi, but there is Apple TV. Water for bathrooms and washing up is supplied from filtered ground water from the escarpment, and is not meant for drinking. You will need to provide bottled water for drinking and cooking. You need to transfer the Electricity into your name.
