Animal lovers welcome.
Quiet and semi rural, you can expect to find peace and tranquility during your stay. Perfectly located near the bottom of Cobble Hill Mountain, we are close to all the activities that the amazing Cowichan Valley has to offer. Whether it be hiking, biking, golfing, kayaking or wine tasting, there is something for everyone. This is a great place to enjoy your Island adventure. Close to Duncan and only 45 minutes to Victoria. Private suite with own entrance and use of the garden. There is a basic kitchen set up, with a fridge, kettle, toaster, and panini press. As yet there is no proper sink so we will happily wash up for you! Laundry facilities are also available anytime and are located in the suite. The bedroom is a haven. A double bed and plenty of space to hang your stuff. The bathroom is yours alone and has a shower, small European sink and toilet. We will be replacing the sink for a larger one - it's on my to do list! The sitting room has a day bed, perfect for an additional guest or child. We also have an inflatable mattress available on request. We do not have a TV but there is full internet access. We are a passionate animal lovers and are happy for you to bring your furry friend with you. Smoking is allowed outside. You are most welcome to wander our garden and visit the chickens, ducks and turkeys! We do ask though that dogs are kept on a leash if they are not familiar with farm animals. Scott works full time at the wonderful Unsworth Vineyard, just around the corner. Join him for a wine tasting during your stay. Emily is back at school and so is spending time either studying at home or at classes in Duncan. We are world travellers and love to meet new people, however are also happy to respect our guests' privacy. We are able to provide any information about the area if you are looking for things to see or do. We hope to be here when you arrive but if we are not, we're happy to arrange for the key to be left for you. Both Mill Bay and Cobble Hill have quaint coffee shops, fabulous restaurants and endless outdoor activities. We are not far from the highway for easy access up and down the island. Visit one of the many vineyards, hike Baldy Mountain or the Kinsol Trestle. Golf one of the numerous courses in the area, kayak in Cowichan Bay or take a whale watching tour. The possibilities are endless. If you are a passionate cyclist there are some fabulous trails and routes to explore. Otherwise you will require a car. We have plenty of parking space. We are animal lovers. Inside the house (but with no access to the suite) we have a 5lb rescue dog called Lulu, 2 kittens, Lizzie and Orlando, a 10 year old rescue tortoise called Daisy and two parakeets. Outside we have several chickens, turkeys and ducks. We have bikes you can borrow if you would like to explore the Valley at a slower pace. Bring your own helmet though!
