The Grand Farmhouse is a unique, custom designed (architect Jim Cline of San Francisco), passive solar farmhouse, with unobstructed views of surrounding farmland and 8 mountain ranges. The "Chuck and Georgia Suite" pays homage to our good friend and artist Chuck and the iconic 20th century artist Georgia O'Keefe. Their combined influence informs the style of the bedroom and adjoining study, which contains a desk, daybed, and multiple O'Keefe prints. Both rooms are connected to a full bathroom. Our farm is located between Cody and Powell and close to Yellowstone Park, the Bighorn Mountains, Red Lodge, and the Beartooth Highway. The Grand Farmhouse is located in the middle of 270 acres of certified organic farmland. We are less than a mile from the base of Heart Mountain, located in the center of the Bighorn Basin in Northwest Wyoming; we are also 70 miles from Yellowstone National Park. Our home is quiet and secluded, and only a 20 minute drive from the towns of Powell and Cody, and the Cody Airport. Each living space has its own refrigerator and coffee bar. We are available to answer questions and assist guests with their local travel plans. House guests are also welcome to join us as we serve breakfast to our campers at 7:30 am every morning; we ask that you give us notice if you would like this service. Breakfast includes pork sausage from pigs grown on the farm. We raise our animals in a humane setting that allows them the freedom they were meant to have from birth; wide open spaces and native vegetation. The farm is located in the high desert of Wyoming. The neighborhood is rural and agricultural, with lots of open space. It is very quiet here, and the only sounds are the wind, birds, and cattle. There is very little to no traffic, and no street lights. The star gazing here is incredible. There is no public transportation, but all other forms of transportation (auto, bicycle, walking, etc.) are available. Hiking up to the summit of Heart Mountain (>8000 ft) takes most of the day; the view from the top is worth every step! There is plenty of awe inspiring country to explore, whether by foot or on horseback. The hike up Heart Mountain (which our farm lies at the base of) is an incredible day hike. Yellowstone National Park is less than 2 hours away. The Beartooth Mountains are one hour away, and the drive there is known as "The most scenic drive of the lower 48 states." The Big Horn Mountains, one hour to the East, are older than the other surrounding mountains, and boast the ancient Medicine Wheel, worth the day trip. We love sharing this unique spot with our guests!
