Waterfront, rustic cottage on Lake Huron shore, with 4 bedroom, located in our quiet, secluded forest just 5 km. from town of Providence Bay (site of largest sand beach in Northern Ontario). Whether you come to find yourself, or to lose yourself, this is the place to be. We specialize in family vacations (1 or more adults at least 25 yrs old), and may include children or some extended family members (eg. grandparents, grandchildren, Aunt/Uncle, cousins, etc.). This listing is for your exclusive use of whole house. During COVID-19, we use a commercial ozone generator decontamination unit throughout the house before and after each guest rental. We have a rustic, off-grid, rural cottage. We generate our own electricity with wind & solar, but have backup diesel generators, just in case. Cottage is in a secluded, private forest, 5 km from the town of Providence Bay, with well water and septic system. We are neither a 5 Star resort, nor a typical suburban home. See the pictures and detailed de (Email hidden by Airbnb) While here, all of your senses will experience the country life, with nature at your door. Guests have access to whole house, except the out-of-bounds private areas reserved by Host (eg. attic, basement, etc.). Escorted farm tours are available for free (on our farm, we raise chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, cow/calf, and Livestock Guardian Dogs). Guests also can access our 1,400 ft of private waterfront, and our 113 acres of forest, with nature trails and wildlife observation platforms. We have 3 km. of quiet gravel road around the 3 sides of our property (water on 4th side), ideal for hiking. We will greet you on arrival, say good-bye on your departure, and interact as much or as little as you'd like during your stay. As you are renting the whole house for your exclusive use, the Host will be living close by to help or answer questions if you need us. We are always available in person, by phone, text, or email, as you please. We have quiet, real, respectful people in the nearby town of Providence Bay. In our private forest, there are no people, and the nearest neighbor is 0.5 km. away. Manitoulin Island is known for its pastoral countryside, bird watching, sport fishing, hiking, biking, camping, wildlife, and hunting. First Nations culture is accessible on Manitoulin Island via 7 different First Nation Reserves (eg. Pow-Wows, museums, cultural centres, etc.). In town, we have an excellent fine dining restaurant , fish & chips shop, Interpretative Centre, and a artistic cafe. You can arrive here by car, public ferry, motorcycle, bicycle, private plane to one of the two airports on Manitoulin Island, snowmobile trail in winter, or private boat to the public dock in town. There is limited public transit on Manitoulin Island, plus taxi. We can arrange transport & return, or assist as your personal guide for your adventures on Manitoulin Island for an additional fee. Each room is complete with bed, dresser drawers, pillow, sheets, and blankets. You will be provided clean towels and facecloths upon your arrival. You are expected to supply your own toiletries, but if you are missing something, we can help. See our website for a detailed list of local features and activities on-site, Providence Bay, and all Manitoulin.
