A room with full size bed (memory foam mattress & pillows) for 1-2 guests. Newton is about 8-10 miles west of Boston. Was named "BEST CITY TO LIVE IN IN MA" in Feb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , "Safest City" & "4th best place to live in the US" in the past. A family of 3 and a sweet german shepherd live in the house. Host is an ESL teacher. Walk to shops, restaurants & a cinema. Close to public transportation (bus 553/4, Commuter Rail) & Rts. (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) . NO THIRD PARTY BOOKING PLEASE FREE OFF STREET PARKING My house is very close to major highways (Interstates (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)). It takes less than 15 minutes to get to Boston. It is located in a less populated area, but still accessible to many amenities NO THIRD PARTY BOOKING PLEASE FREE OFF STREET PARKING In the room there is a mini fridge, an iron with an ironing board. Guests can use the kitchen for coffee and light heating of food, the bathrooms, Wifi, foyer, balcony, garden/yard/patio area. Extended stay (10+ days) includes laundry for a small fee. I work Monday through Friday. I am out of the house from 6:30am. I am available for help in giving directions or when I am home. This is a quiet residential neighborhood. Public Transportation: 1) Commuter Rail Train - minutes away, behind the house - it goes to Downtown Boston 2) Bus 553/554 to downtown Boston - within 2 blocks away 3) Subway (the T) - is within 25 minutes walk to the Green Line (Riverside) There is also Uber and taxis Places to see in Boston and surrounding areas 1) Park at the Riverside Station (Green Line), buy a day pass and take the T to: a. Park Street Station i. The Freedom Trail ii. Boston Public Gardens and Swan boats iii. The State House iv. Downtown crossing v. Acorn Street – on Beacon Hill (most photographed street in the US) b. Copley Square station i. Boston Public Library ii. The Symphony iii. Christ the Scientist church – headquarters iv. Newbury street – higher item shopping & dining v. Prudential building – people can see the city from the top floor c. Museum of Fine Arts d. Government center station – See Fanueuil Hall and Quincy Market (historic but touristy now) 2) From Park Station, take the RED line to: a. Harvard University & Harvard Square 3) Take the blue line to a. the Aquarium and the water front b. the duck tours Other places to go: • USS constitution & WW2 Destroyer Plymoth Plantation – where people still live the way they did during the pilgrims Plymoth Rock on the water The Mayflower II North of Boston Gloucester (pronounced Gloster), America’s first fishing town and the scene for the film “The Perfect Storm” Ocean front and walk in the city Rockport Salem, MA – the witch museum, the House of the Seven Gables, the official witch of Salem A note about Boston: When the Puritans settled in Boston, they didn’t come looking for better life, they were rich aristocrats who came looking for religious freedom. They wanted to build a New England: a place good enough for them to live in. So they built the first public park, Public library, University (Harvard), public transportation (Green line), and the Museum of fine arts.
