Villa Mayes is the most conveniently located high-end rental on the market located just off Cumberland/Kingston Pike and within walking distance to Neyland Stadium, Tyson Park, the University of Tennessee, the Strip, downtown Knoxville, and the Tennessee River. Built in 1940 and constructed of Tennessee marble, the home has been updated to blend new materials, colors, and textures with the existing architecture, terrazzo and one-of-a-kind tile to honor and highlight its history. Mid Century Modern and Industrial style furnishings combine with moody colors and earthy textures to create a laid-back luxe aesthetic perfect for relaxing, entertaining and creating memories. The home features original brass inlaid terrazzo floors, original hardwoods, ornate tile work throughout including 24k gold tile, a huge backyard with 20' x 40' pool and eclectic mosaic tile sidewalks and pool deck, 2 large living rooms with TVs for game day watching, 4 bedrooms (located upstairs) plus three sleeper sofas (two singles + queen located downstairs). Fully equipped kitchen with Keurig, a breakfast nook with dining for 6, a dining room with dining for 8, two large living rooms with TVs and ATT Uverse service, Wifi. K-cups for Keurig are provided, full breakfast is not. Washer and dryer are available and located in an unconditioned utility room on the main level. We love our home. It has the quirks and charm of any house built in 1940, like the squeak of the hardwoods as you walk on them. The bathroom colors and fixtures reflect the age of the home and have beautiful floor to ceiling tile. You'll also notice unique ceiling tiles - some in better shape than others- in each room and that the upstairs drains can be a little slow. The upstairs plumbing is original and uses a "drum trap", a less modern plumbing system. It's in great shape and is regularly maintained, its just not what you may be used to. We have tried to make our home as cozy and comfortable as possible without altering the original character and we hope you enjoy!
