Casa Tres Arboles - Mountain- and Ocean-View
Casa Tres Arboles is the ideal place for couples and nature lovers. It is situated on a ridge above Uvita and combines the best and most beautiful of the region: You have a great view over the famous Whale Tail in the Pacific Ocean and can see with the naked eye every morning whether the tide allows an early visit to the beach or whether you should rather hike up the mountain. The pool is private. Pets are allowed. A 4x4 car is highly recommended. Probably you will start the day as we do and have your morning Costa Rican coffee at the pool while listening to the day begin, the waking howler monkeys and the birds. The one-story house is modern and comfortable. The clear architecture is calming, the white walls, the furniture in honey-colored tropical wood and the high-quality limestone tiles provide clarity and a good feeling of space. The bed is in the center of the room. You sleep with your feet towards the ocean, behind you the green mountains rise up. On a clear day you can see the stars at night from your bed. The kitchen front made of tropical wood, an bathroom-section with two washbasins made of river stone and separate rooms for shower and toilet offer everything you need. Both house fronts are equipped with folding glass doors, alternatively you can pull the mosquito screens over the whole area. In this way the inside connects with the outside and vice versa. Recently we added roller blinds at both sides to increase privacy when needed. There is almost always a breeze blowing through the house and across the property. Therefore we do not need air conditioning here during the whole year. Additionally there is a fan. The illuminated nine meter long pool on the almost 40 square meter large outdoor terrace is eye-catcher, refreshment and workout-pool at the same time. The river valley bordering the property and the nearest, higher mountains of a tropical nature reserve are your daily backdrop. You wake up when the sun rises over the mountains and can enjoy the sunset over the Whale Tail in the evening. Up here you are far enough away from the small but lively Uvita and yet close enough to very beautiful beaches, weekly markets and shops. The drive to the well developed coastal road La Costanera takes 10 minutes, to the beaches another few minutes. You will need a 4x4 car!! The house is located out of sight on an unpaved road and has two neighbors. Apart from some road sound, most of the time you hear only the sounds of the many animals, macaws, amazons, toucans and howler monkeys, whenever you return here and close the gate behind you. Casa Las Ventanas is a second domicile on our property that we also rent out. It is located about 100 meters below Casa Tres Arboles. Both houses are acoustically and visually mostly separated from each other by slopes and trees. Casa Las Ventanas, which is designed for two to four people, is located in the garden and forest and is also oriented exclusively there. Interested parties are welcome to rent both. Both parties use the washing and drying bodega as well as the main gate and driveway. The swimming pool and the lawn around the pool are exclusively reserved for the guests of Casa Tres Arboles. Casa Tres Arboles is self-sufficient and "off the grid". Hot water and electricity are generated by our own solar panels. The water comes from filtered spring and rain water. The drinking water runs through an additional UV filter. We have deliberately left the area of the house, which extends to the river and the waterfalls and small swimming pools located there, outside the garden as a rainforest. The animal diversity up here is unique, a paradise for bird and animal observers. Bring your binoculars with you! We live here relatively secluded and quiet, but we appreciate the very personal neighbourhood. People here know each other and care for each other. This ensures security and safety. Our Spanish, English and French-speaking caretaker lives next door and is always available for any concerns. From Casa Tres Arboles you can easily make day trips to the various waterfalls of the region or to the Manuel Antonio National Park (about 1 hour drive) near Quepos. The Corcovado can be reached by car or by boat from Sierpe. There are no limits to activities in the nearby surroundings. Here are just a few examples: Kayaking through the mangroves, surfing, horseback riding, whale watching, snorkeling, diving or fine dining in nearby Ojochal. In Uvita you find taxis and a bus stop with connections to the north (Quepos, San José) and the south. Casa Tres Arboles is self-sufficient and "off the grid".
