Comfort and Charm in Historic Milford
Built in 1890 in a charming Victorian neighborhood, our peaceful home in historic Milford offers guests their own front-door entrance and living area. You are a few blocks away from antique stores, unique gift shops, wine & bourbon bars, unique restaurants, live music, national bike and foot trails, a nature preserve, and the Little Miami River. Business travelers: we're only 4 miles from FC Cincinnati's Training Facility and Tata Consulting Services. And just 16 miles from downtown Cincinnati. This bedroom is large, comfortable, and Victorian! We get tons of compliments on how comfortable the bed is (a top-of-the-line 2.5" memory foam topper). The entire front of our two-story home is used exclusively by our guests. The front door is your private entrance. Your room (Room #3) is located at the top of the stairs at the end of the hallway. On the first floor is the parlor room (with HDTV/Netflix, couch, piano, work area) and the dining room. The dining room is the only room in the front of house or upstairs that we share with our guests. On the second floor are 2 guest bedrooms and and 1 full bath. Toiletries (shampoo, soap, towels) provided. Also included are a microwave, small fridge, and a coffee/tea bar. We do not allow in-room cooking; nor do we provide breakfast/lunch/dinner or kitchen facilities. The front door of our home is a private entrance for guests (we use the side door and live/work in a separate area). As you enter, you'll be in your parlor room. To your right is the dining room. The bathroom contains supplies like fresh towels, soaps/body wash, and shampoo. Extra supplies are in the bathroom closet. Happy to host you and your pooch, we draw the line at hosting cats. Many guests are allergic so we appreciate if you leave your kitty at home when visiting us. In our home, you have access to the parlor room, dining room, and entire upstairs (bedrooms and bath). Of those rooms, the dining room is the only room you may need to share with your hosts. All other areas are used exclusively by our guests. Not available to you is our main kitchen and the back addition of our home where we live and work. We believe in respecting your space and privacy. We will keep our entrance into the guest areas (the front of house and the upstairs) to an absolute minimum. You may contact us via the Airbnb system, which includes an email messaging area as well as our cell phone numbers. We are constantly online (and connected via our phones) and do our best to respond to your calls, texts, and emails immediately. You may also visit us by going around the house (from the outside) and knocking on our side door. This is the entrance to our home and office area. Don't hesitate to visit us. However, we do encourage you to contact us through the Airbnb system for any requests. It's far easier to track our communications that way. Entering our quaint neighborhood is like stepping into a Norman Rockwell painting. Friendly neighbors and turn-of-the-20th-century Victorian homes. We are a short walk away from historic downtown Milford and its many charming gift shops, antique stores, coffee and ice cream parlors, wine and bourbon bars, live music, restaurants. Over the last 10 years, our little town has become a hot-spot for window shopping, dining, and entertainment. We're also a short walk from the Little Miami River, where you can enjoy kayaking and fishing. Challenge Dino, your co-host and our resident champion, to a stone-skipping battle on the river. Or join him on Thursday evenings at Padrino's for Trivia Night. Just a block away is the quiet, scenic campus of the Jesuit Spiritual Center. The grounds include breathtaking natural scenery, riverside overlooks, and even a labyrinth and small cabin for meditation and contemplation. The Little Miami Scenic Trail begins right across the river and travels approximately 75 miles to the northeast. Portions of the trail parallel the river for which it's named, winding serenely through the beautiful countryside of Southwestern Ohio. Milford is the only spot in the country where 7 national trails intersect, including the Buckeye Trail, the North Country National Scenic Trail, and the Ohio-to-Erie Trail. There's plenty of safe parking on our side of the street on Cleveland Ave. A Cincinnati (Metro) bus line stops just two blocks away. And Uber or a cab will meet and take you anywhere you want. The majority of people in our neighborhood use their feet or their bikes to get to our local attractions. • We are 27 minutes (17 miles) away from downtown Cincinnati. • We are 33 minutes (33 miles) from the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport. • We are 64 minutes (65 miles) from the Dayton International Airport. If more than one room is booked while you're staying with us, please know that you'll be sharing the full bath with those guests.
