"Winterview" - A Mountain Chalet

"Winterview" is a peaceful retreat 3 hrs. from NYC or Philly. Our mt. home will be available most of the year as homeowner's mother lives here. Check-in: 1 p.m., checkout: noon. Breakfast or lunch is included. Bear in mind the rental is $99 for one person/night & $149 for two people/night sharing the same bed. Because our home is a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, in a quiet community of mostly senior citizens, we ask that kids and pets are left home. Our home is not childproofed. So, for safety reasons and to maintain the sanctuary atmosphere, PLEASE LEAVE ANY FAMILY MEMBERS UNDER 21 at home. We will consider a quiet pet on a per case basis. We do not allow tobacco or drugs. The lake is a five-minute walk and there is a lot to do in the area if you are looking for more than just peace and quiet in a lovely woody mountain chalet. Cove Haven Resort is nearby for folks who want to enjoy their shows without having to pay resort prices. The upstairs & laundry room are inaccessible to guests. The lake is a five-minute walk from the house. There's a boat launch, swim dock, fire pit, picnic tables & benches. There are plenty of hiking trails around. We have a mt. bike, canoe and inflatable single-person kayak, with paddles & life vests, an inner tube; as well as tennis rackets & balls, a mosquito net tent for one for sleeping under the stars on the deck or in the yard, two hammocks, a fire pit with table & chairs (2); & for a workout, a stationary bike, elliptical, stretch/yoga mat & big blue ball, all available for guest use. Serious about weights? We have the gear. The local park has a tennis court, basketball court and picnic tables five minutes away by car. Check-in and checkout are somewhat flexible depending on whether reservations are back-to-back. Connie lives upstairs and shares the living area and will be immediately accessible by phone and close by for problem solving or emergencies. We are in the woods over PA's largest lake, Lake Wallenpaupack, but there are so many activities in the area, there is plenty to do if you are looking for fun. NYC, Philly and Hershey Park are about three hours away; there are water parks, sports stadiums, casinos, malls, theaters all within an hour's drive, plus restaurants, attractions, tennis courts, hiking trails, antique shops and more within minutes from our place, open depending on Covid-19 restrictions, of course. You need a car to get anywhere outside our community. Dinners available, if desired. Snacks and beverages offered at no charge. Please note that our community rules include QUIET HOURS from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. As noted, a fire pit with table and chairs is available on the property. No fireworks or weapons are allowed on Briar Hill. No smoking is allowed in the house. During the summer there are often the sounds of fireworks around the lake. We have a bedside sound machine to obscure the noise. Vaccinated guests only please; no masks or social distancing necessary. Thank you.
