Spacious 2-person bedroom in quiet rural neighborhood. Queen-size bed, TV, futon couch, 2 closets, and 3 shaded windows. Bathrooms and common areas are shared and you are welcome to join us for meals. Coffee & tea are available in the kitchen. Off-street parking is available. We are near Fitchburg State University and downtown, and we are close to trails and state parks. Well-appointed room that sleeps 2 adults comfortably. There is plenty of storage for extended stays. We live in a 3-bedroom, 1.5-bath, two-story, cape. You're welcome to use any of the common areas to relax and enjoy your stay, such as use of the kitchen, living room and backyard. We have off-street parking and there are no parking restrictions in our neighborhood. We just ask that there is a 2-car limit and to be mindful of neighbors. We do not have a key lockbox, so one of us will need to greet you to gain access. You will be given a key to the front door, and ask that you return it to one of us, or place it on one of the hooks under the mounted mirror in the front hallway. The home is spacious, but is has its limits. Due to the shared bathroom situation, we may have frequent interaction. You'll have complete privacy in your room, and with a little communication we should be able to avoid bathroom conflicts. Generally we prepare a light breakfast in the morning and often eat dinner at home. You're more than welcome to join us in whatever way you feel most comfortable. If you're planning to go out for the evening, we can recommend places for you to go. We live in a quiet, almost rural, neighborhood, on the corner of a 4-way intersection. There's a house on each corner. Lots of trees and minimal traffic. Sometimes we can hear route 31, but that's rare. You will have almost no interaction with our neighbors. Some of our local favorite eateries and hangouts: Averill House Vineyard, 21 Averill Rd, Brookline, NH Dario's Restante, 187 River St Mill No 3, 85 Westminster St River Styx Brewery, 166 Boulder Dr Smokestack Roasters (coffee & baked goods), 39 Mass. Ave (Rte. 2A), Lunenburg Strong Style Coffee, 37 Cushing St Tacos & Tequilas, 310 Main St Thirsty Robot Brewing Co., 265 Summer St, Fitchburg (back of the building) Zapata Mexican Cocina, 23 Lunenburg St Some local attractions and destinations: Wachusett Mountain Ski Area - 25 minutes/11 miles Boston - 1.25 hours/60 miles Fitchburg State University - by car: 5 minutes; by foot: 30 minutes/1.6 miles Gardner, MA - 25 minutes/15 miles Greenfield, MA - 1.1 hours/51 miles Harvard, MA - 30 minutes/18 miles Harvard University - 1 hour/44 miles; public transit: 2.5 hours Keene, NH - 55 minutes/37 miles Leominster State Forest - 20 minutes/7.7 miles Leominster, MA - by car: 20 minutes/7.1 miles; public transit: 1.33 hours Worcester - 40 minutes/30 miles If you view the Guidebook at the bottom of this page, I have noted several local places. We are in a fairly rural area. We are conveniently located just off route 31 north of downtown Fitchburg. We're about a 10-minute drive from the Fitchburg commuter rail station, but without a vehicle, it's tough to get around. During the academic year, the local bus, MART, has a route that extends farther up route 31. Otherwise we are not very close to the nearest bus stop. We are happy to pick guests up from the commuter rail station, or drop you off at the end of your stay, but we suggest renting a car or arrange other transportation needs during your stay. Off street tandem parking for up to 2 vehicles is available at our home. Fitchburg offers many things to do year-round. From live music at a local bar to holiday house tours. Plays and farmers markets. Hiking and aerial rides. If your travel plans exceed our maximum night limit, please contact us if you're interested in staying longer. We host a number of business travelers for whom our space may be suited for long-term stays. We strive to donate at least 10% of our Airbnb revenue to local, regional and international charitable organizations, such as The Arc of Opportunity in North Central Massachusetts, the Fitchburg Art Museum, the Fitchburg Historical Society, Goodwill, International Medical Corps, Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders, Our Father's House - Fitchburg, our local NPR station - WGBH, and others.
