Our riverfront cottage is close to restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, and nightlife. You’ll love the neighborhood, the comfy beds, the kitchen, and the coziness. It's great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets): $50 ADDITIONAL FEE) and is within a five-minute walk of all village amenities. The river is right outside your front door and is perfect for dipping on a hot summer day. Jay Peak is just minutes up the road. We are empty-nesters and purchased this home as our retirement home. It is located on the banks of the Trout River in Montgomery Center and has been lovingly renovated from top to bottom. In the summertime, when the water is at its lowest, you can relax and frolic in the refreshing cool waters of the Trout River; just around the river bend is a deeper swimming hole for you, the kids, or the dog! In the evening, enjoy making s'mores around the fire pit as you relax in your Adirondack chairs and listen to the babbling river. As you enter the apartment, you will find a small vestibule to hang your hats and coats. There is also an area for skis and snow gear. Ascending the custom staircase, you are greeted by an open living room/kitchen/dining area with beamed vaulted ceilings, track lighting throughout and ceiling fans. All lighting is on dimmer switches to be adjusted however you like. Here you will also find a flat screen TV, pull-out full-size futon, Defiant gas fireplace and huge double windows overlooking the yard and stone path leading down to the river. The flooring is custom bamboo. The kitchen boasts stainless steel top of the line fridge with ice maker, 5-burner gas range, deep double sinks and granite counter with a peninsula. A private deck is located off the dining area. Down the short hallway, is the bathroom which features a custom walk-in tiled shower with a sitting bench. There is also a stack washer/dryer. On the opposite side of the hallway is a set of bunk beds and at the end of the hallway, you enter the huge master bedroom featuring a pillow top Serra queen size bed and cozy electric fireplace. You will find plenty of extra pillows and linens here also. And we haven't forgotten Fido: We have provided a bed, bowls, and a toy for your favorite furry travelling companion as well! Our little house on the river is just a short walk (maybe 5 minutes) to all the town amenities such as: grocery store with huge liquor and wine selection, nightclub, restaurants, post office, bike shop (they also rent out snowmobiles in the winter), ATM, churches.
