Waterfront, cabin-style home that sits directly (fish from the deck at high tide) on the breathtaking Skookum Inlet. Your stay at "Kravitz-Port" gives you a sea level view to an active, Northwest oyster farm. The inlet is a wildlife refuge to seals, eagles, otters, etc. All can be spotted in their natural habit while you sit on the deck with a panoramic waterfront view. You can catch a glimpse of waterfront serenity from any spot you are resting at Kravitz-Port, inside or outside of the home. Come retreat and have a truly unique Northwest experience by staying at this beautiful Cape-Cod-style cabin with all wood walls, a 15- foot vaulted ceiling and wood floors. Cozy, but large common space. AC, high-speed internet, cable and DVD. Barbeque . Lots of parking. Close to hikes, one hour to the ocean and close proximity to the quaint town of Shelton. You are also free to BBQ, build a fire in the fire pit, grill oysters or clams (available upon request) and truly engage in a Northwest delicacy. BEACH ACCESS: You are free to go for a walk on the beach to the "left" of Kravitz-Port. Bring your own kayak, floaties, rowboat, and fishing poles. Water gear can enter in the water ONLY at high tide, to protect the shellfish. Guests are NOT permitted on the neighbors beach (to the right) or during low tide near the oyster pens. Walks on upper beach to the left only. NO PERSON is ever allowed to walk on the oyster farm for any reason and NO shellfish of any kind, can be taken from these oyster farms. This beach is PRIVATE PROPERTY with no public access. There are also serene country roads to go for walks and enjoy listening to the birds, feel the breeze and smell the scents of the country. Care taker on upper property in trailer. No one will be bothering you . Just there for your security. WATERFONT! Walk the beach or take to the country road. The street is a country road with the ability to take a long walk or a lazy stroll without much traffic. Listen to the birds and the breeze blowing through the trees. The cabin sits on the beach with an active working Oyster Farm. If you are interested, the owner of the farm is usually available to provide information about the process. Mostly, just watching the wildlife is very entertaining and peaceful. It is very quiet! A great spot to unwind and relax. There is plenty of parking down by the house. The neighbor to the right (facing the water) is where the oyster farm owner lives. His beach and oyster beds are off limits for beach combing and strolling. Beach walks to the left from Kravitz-Port are the places to explore. However, all oyster pens (exposed at low tide) are also off limits. Another thing to be aware of in regard to the oyster farm is, from time to time, a truck will come down the neighbors drive to the left to gather the picker"s harvest. This area is a residential community, so keep in mind the noise restrictions. (10pm) Because this is an active oyster farm, sometimes the oyster harvesters do their work in the middle of the night. The only thing you might notice is the truck lights coming down the neighbor"s driveway. This only happens when the tide is very low.
