This historical home, built in the 1920's, has many modern upgrades to make you feel comfortable, just 15 minutes from Fredericksburg, TX, 1 mile from LBJ Ranch and within 3 miles of several top wineries! ********The Space********* Alexander's Haus was originally built in the 1920's as a bunker to house U.S. Army soldiers on Fort Sam Houston Army Base in San Antonio. This home remained on Ft. Sam until after WWII. When the war was over, It was then sold by the U.S. government to a family of farmers in the 1950's and moved from the Army base to Stonewall, TX in this exact spot. The family who purchased it also built a small liquor store on the property called "Nettie's Package Store" where they sold beverages, supplies, wine and liquor to local farmers for many years! The old liquor store building still stands on the property today in it's original condition. Alexander's Haus is just 15 minutes from Fredericksburg, TX - a historic German town with many restaurants, wineries, the U.S. Nimitz Museum and lots of unique shopping. It's also less than 1 mile from LBJ National Park and the LBJ Ranch which offers a FREE drive-through ranch tour, miles of natural walking trails with historical farming homes and a real working historical farm. There are more than 10 wineries within 3 miles including Fat A-- Ranch and Winery, Mandelbaum, Woodrose Winery, Hilmy Cellars, Torre de Pietra, Grape Creek, Inwood Estates and Messina Hof. You can use everything provided at Alexander's Haus!
