Charming 3-bedroom cottage with fall/winter water views and a roaring stone fireplace, located in the Mulberry Point area, just steps one of Guilford's three public beaches and a short drive to the best of the shoreline. A great place to hang out on the deck or use as home base for exploring the area. Our home is clean, comfortable, and uncluttered. Awake to birdsong in our 3-bedroom cottage, located in the picturesque Mulberry Point area, just a block from one of Guilford's three public beach on the LI Sound. A raised deck offers fall/winter view of the Long Island Sound, Chaffinch Island Park, the Guilford Marina, and overlooks a salt marsh teeming with osprey, cardinals, blue jays, hawks, chipmunks, and bunnies. Directly behind the house is a quiet woodsy trail that leads to Tuttle's Point, Mulberry Point, and Indian Cove areas. Walk or drive to Chaffinch Island Park - a rocky and grassy hidden gem situated on the Sound with bbq pits, shady trees, and solitude. The house has newly-finished oak floors throughout and sleeps five in three bedrooms; one full/queen with newly-renovated half-bath; one queen; and the third with a single bed; all have large closets, and fresh linens and towels. Main bath recently renovated. Our sun-filled living room has a rose granite fireplace with an Eames lounge chair for fireside viewing. Fast 5G WiFi supports Netflix and Amazon streaming, plus Xfinity cable package with all broadcast and many cable stations. For music, there's a stereo and an Amazon Echo. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'll need, including coffee, tea, spices and cooking utensils, etc. *We don't currently have a dishwasher; if you require one, this house is not for you!* The laundry is also located on the main floor. Downstairs is a 700 sq. foot walkout lightly-furnished basement with 43" Smart TV; bar and outdoor patio. Our location is key; it's a short drive to the Shoreline East train station, which travels from New Haven to New London, offering easy access to & from New Haven (Yale), NYC & Boston. Guests have access to the entire 3-bedroom house including a raised outdoor deck, and 700 sq. ft unfurnished walkout basement with private entrance, outdoor patio and Smart TV. While we will likely not be on the premises, we will always be immediately available by text, email or phone. Our neighbors are available in case of emergency. Guilford is a peaceful and natural oasis located on the stunning Connecticut shoreline. The Mulberry Point area is located on the shoreline and is rich with wildlife, nature trails, and scenic splendor. It's a great place to bike along the coast, hike, kayak, eat, bird-watch, and explore. Visit the wineries and local breweries, go apple or peach-picking, or check out the collection of historic homes museums, churches, art galleries, and quaint shops. This neighborhood is very quiet, peaceful and friendly, with a nice mix of families, professionals, artists, academics, dog lovers, and all-around friendly neighbors. It's a five-minute drive to the famed Guilford Green, which is lined with vintage shops, cafes, a bookstore, hardware store, food markets, restaurants, library - no Starbucks or big box stores. Leaving Guilford, drive a few miles to Hammonasset State Park, The Stony Creek Brewery, Chammard Vineyard, and a cruise to the Thimble Islands. And there's plenty to eat! Ayu Thai serves incredible Thai food, with free live Jazz on Sunday nights. If you keep a plant-based diet - or even if you don't - Guilford's new addition Three Girls Vegan creates some of the best plant-based cheeses, desserts, and entrees in the northeast. There's also the Lobster Pound with seating on the water, Kaman for Indian, Bufalina's famous pizza, country breakfasts, and seafood galore! Nearby New Haven (16 miles) offers museums, theater, galleries, shops and great food. *Architectural Digest just named nearby Wallingford, CT as one of "The 7 U.S. Wine Regions Giving Napa a Serious Run for Its Money US." Check it out online! Our location is key; we are a 5-min. drive to the Shoreline East train station, which travels from New Haven to New London, offering easy access to & from New Haven (Yale), NYC & Boston. If you don't drive, there is one taxi company and an Uber driver is usually available in the area. Walking, biking and kayaking are also preferred methods of transportation. The Guilford train station offers free overnight parking.
