Escape the crowded cities to our magical bamboo house and enjoy stunning views over the lush green rice terraces. Perfect for adventurers and nature lovers who want to be fully immersed in their surroundings and experience the remote parts of Bali. The Lotus Bamboo House is one of 4 houses that run along the edge of the rice field valley, with open views over the small valley in front of you. The main bedroom is opens through open arches to the outside. The second bed of the house is located in a romantic bamboo dome in the garden. It's small and cozy, making it perfect for a second couple to sleep in or use as a day lounge. Both, the main room and the bamboo dome, have their own bathrooms and open showers. The main unit features a large net suspended in front of the house with beautiful views. You can spend your day lounging in the net or choose to relax in your own private outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the rice fields. The design of the house is very open with no doors to lock. This is a very safe area and our local host Made is a resident of the nearby village, and the local farmers in the area are all extremely welcoming to our guests. Sleeping arrangements: The bamboo house sleeps 4 people comfortably. Please see the details below: King Bed in the Main Room sleeps 2 people Round King Bed in the small bamboo dome sleeps 2 people The Lotus bamboo house does not have an indoor "common area". When the weather is good, there is a seating corner as well as a small outdoor fireplace to sit and lounge together, if you are coming with 4 people. If it is raining however, the space for 4 people to chill and lounge together is thus more limited. Please keep this in mind if coming with groups. Also, on very hot and sunny days, the sleeping pod gets quite warm during the day - this is not a problem at night because the temperature up in the rice terraces and the higher altitude we are at cools down a lot. However during the day, especially with the window at the ceiling, the sleeping pods may get very warm and the open areas of the Pyramid main unit are a better place to relax on those days. We also provide fans for you to use. You have access to the entire house and it's all yours, so make yourself comfortable. There's always someone there for you when you need us. Also, our host Made loves talking to guests (expect a big bear hug when you get to meet him the first time) and share stories over a cup of magic tea in the evening. If you wish to just relax you can also retreat to your bamboo house and enjoy the space in your own time and privacy. During the day you will see local villagers farming their fields in the below rice terraces. People in the area are all very friendly and approachable. This is still where Bali is today like it's always been. One of the best ways to experience this is through one of the local ceremonies in the local village. If the timing is right and there's a ceremony while you're here, Made will love to take you there to experience part of his local culture. To make it easier for you to explore the local surroundings, we provide one scooter to our guests at no additional costs (please request the scooter a day in advance). We can also help to arrange transport to and from anywhere in Bali with a private driver. If you need pickup or drop off, simply let us know and we'll be happy to arrange it. Please note that usage of the scooter is at your own risk, and ensure you have the correct license to drive a motorbike (the scooters are more than 50cc so considered a motorbike), and that your travel insurances covers riding scooters. LOCATION: The Pyramid is one of 4 houses of the Camaya project, located in an off the grid and very biologically diverse area of Bali. If you're looking for adventure, nature, and relaxation, this is the place for you! We are located in Karangasem Regency, a 90-minute drive from Ubud and 2 hours from the International airport. We are in a secluded location amidst nature – there are no shops, ATMs or mini-marts in walking distance, but you can use the free motorcycle to explore the surrounding. The bamboo house is very private, but there is another bamboo house to it’s right. The area in-between the two villas is covered with high plants to ensure privacy. INSECTS & BUGS (please read): The house is designed very openly and thus bugs, insects and frogs are common sight and sometimes even mice is seen. Our beds have mosquito nets, but if you get scared easily with insects or bugs, this is not the right place for you and we recommend to find somewhere else instead. We are after all in the middle of nature. FOOD: Breakfast is included in the price. There are no restaurants in walking distance but we have a small local restaurant on the property where we serve homemade Balinese food. FREE MOTORCYCLE: We give you a free motorcycle to explore the local surroundings on your own or visit temples or waterfalls in the area. TOWELS & LINEN: Due to high humidity in our area, especially when it's been raining, the towels and linen at times get very damp and may start to smell. If you need replacements at any time during your stay, simply let the team know and they will supply you with fresh ones. It’s a unique opportunity to experience Bali in a way that most tourists cannot. -We have a small restaurant on the property that uses ingredients right form our fields -Free scooter and if needed you can also hire a car + driver to tour you around Downsides: -This is a remote location, 90 minutes drive from Ubud (no restaurants, shopping, ATMs, minimarts etc. in walking distance). -The bamboo retreat is located in the middle of nature and you will have visits of "nature's residents" (insects, bugs, frogs, sometimes mice has been spotted). While we keep everything very clean, bugs and insects are normal and part of the experience and cannot be avoided as the house is designed very openly. If you are sensitive to this, this place is not suitable for you. Especially if you leave some of the lights on over night, please don't be surprised to find dead insects on the floor in the morning - it naturally attracts them. -We offer pocket WIFI to our guests. Due to our location, the Internet is not the fastest and there may be occasions where it’s not working at all. Please keep this in mind. -While we provide our guests as much privacy as possible, the house has open views over the local rice fields. Usage of the hanging net: Use the outdoor hanging net ONLY AT YOUR OWN RISK. The total weight on the net should never exceed 200kg and is limited to 2 people max. Never stand or jump on the net. For safety reasons, we always recommend to use hand and legs together when going over the net. Never sit on the rims of the net, for the risk of falling down.
