It covers 1,295 acres, which places it in the top 10% of lakes in Minnesota in terms of surface area. Lower South Long Lake has seven inlets and one outlet. It is approximately 47 feet deep at its deepest point. When fishing, anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Black Bullhead, Bluegill, Brown Bullhead, Green Sunfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Rock Bass, Walleye, Yellow Bullhead, Yellow Perch, Pumpkinseed.
