The west-facing living room, dining room, and kitchen have floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall windows that capture the most incredible views imaginable, from dramatic multicolored sunsets to people strolling along the Long Beach Washington boardwalk. Guests enjoy spending long hours on the private balcony watching the ever-changing scenery. Included is a pair of binoculars for bird and whale watching. A family of deer visit regularly and graze in the field below. Vacation Haven is an easy 5-minute walk to the local bakery, family-dining, local pubs and distilleries, souvenir shops, ice cream parlors, two mini-golf courses, a go-kart course, the kite museum, and a local renowned candy store. Once parked in the reserved covered and uncovered parking spots, guests may never have to drive again until departure time. The ocean is easily accessible from a nearby trail. For evening entertainment, a new drive-in theater just opened. The area is rich with state parks, lighthouses, and the 8.5-mile-long Discovery trail linking Ilwaco to Long Beach for hiking and biking. The Long Beach Peninsula allows cars to drive on the beach, and campfires are permitted; both are seasonal so check out the local regulations first. Long Beach holds an annual Kite Festival in August and a Classic Car show in September.
