Our little slice of heaven is ten acres of mostly wooded promontory, overlooking White Oak Run, a beautiful, large creek with several small waterfalls. A very private setting amidst rolling farmland yet easily accessible to major roadways and plenty of nearby attractions like vineyards, breweries, Shenandoah National Park, the University of Virginia, Monticello and many more. Comfortable, well furnished home with large front porch, in a lovely setting where nature abounds and adventure awaits! Comfortable, relaxing home in the woods with ample space to stretch out. Fully equipped kitchen, living/dining room combo and large bedroom with king bed & full bath, all on first floor. Second floor has large bedroom with cathedral ceiling, full bath, sitting area with bench and a lovely reading room with many books, reading alcove, queen futon and lots of natural light. Enjoy the park-like grounds with large creek, several small waterfalls, rock outcropping, large trees and much wildlife. View beautiful winter sunrises and much wildlife from the bay window seats. At the right time of year you'll find raspberries, blackberries and wildflowers for the picking. Hosts live on site in a wing of the house connected by a breezeway and separated behind two locked doors. We love our privacy and respect yours, but if guests need help, advice, directions or anything else, we are generally just a phone call or text message away! Home is situated off of a rural road amidst rolling farmland and woodlands, yet only two miles from Main Street in Madison, where you'll find several local eateries. Exactly one mile from Bald Top Brewery and approximately 3.5 miles from Early Mountain Winery and within a 15 minute drive of several other lovely wineries. 15 minutes will also get you to several different access points of Shenandoah National Park with hiking trails, waterfalls and swimming holes. Yoders Market is just a few minutes drive and it includes a petting zoo. In our rural area there is no public transport so automobile or motorcycle travel is your best option. Cyclists use our road as well so that might be an option for some folks.
