Wander the grounds and discover thoughtfully landscaped gardens, sitting areas, prayerful and meditation spaces with natural lakeshore wildlife habitats. Home is located next to boat launch and our property has ample parking for boat trailers. Perfect for a fishing trip! Use our kayaks, row boat, paddle boat, or bring your kayaks & canoes and take advantage of lake access and 4 private docks at your shoreline. Amenities such as yoga spaces and matts, beach towels, cooler and chairs are provided. Beautiful fall colors on display September - mid November can be viewed from the deck or walk a simple trail on the Deer Lake Preservation hiking Trails open any season located 1/2 mile up the road. A Winter wonderland includes views of snowfalls, ice fishing folks, with cross country, snowshoeing, sledding and snowmobiling out front. Many CC trails nearby & skiing/boarding is just ten minutes away. Explore the area full of hiking trails, mountain biking, road bike trails, beaches, kayak and boat rentals. Two local breweries within 3 miles and Five local wineries within 10 miles featuring Deer Lake Winery across the lake with its live music Saturdays @ 6:00 during the summer season. Transportation available upon request. We follow all COVID and Sate of WI Hospitality cleanliness standards. Guests have access to all of the amenities, rooms and 2 acres including dock space for your boat. Bring your kayaks or use the ones provided. While we try our best to empty rainfall water and debris from each paddle boat, row boat and kayak you may need to tip one over or wipe it off. There are towels and wash rags in the storage shed for your use. Thank you in advance for your understanding. Owners reside a few houses away which offers total privacy while still being available if needed. Owners have a pontoon docked at the large dock. Occasionally you may see them accessing the pontoon on the large dock during the summer. They will not interfere with your privacy or use of the home and the waterfront and are friendly people ;). The Landing is 10 minutes from Taylor's Falls, St. Croix Falls, & Interstate Park. Many hiking, biking, cross country ski and snow mobile routes are out your door. There are local Deer Lake Preservation hiking trails within a 1/2 mile with several areas to park and explore or you can walk up 140th Avenue going East to access two of them at Hungerford Point. Easy, close boat rentals are ten minutes away at St Croix Dock, Lift and Water sports. The only Public Boat Launch access on Deer Lake is located next to the property for easy boat launching, park your boat at our private docks. Deer lake is known for its crystal clear water, and is a great fishing lake both summer and winter. Walk out and visit the ice fishing village or drop a line yourself. Enjoy paddling to a nearby quiet bay for swimming and lounging fun. So many nearby adventures, too many to mention here, and our guests have enjoyed walking along the river with unique cafes, stores and ice cream shops. Families have enjoyed the summer adventure parks at Wild Mountain and Trollhaugen as well as the train in Osceola. Enjoy Winter CC skiing out your door or drive ten minutes to Trollhaugen for boarding, skiing, tubing fun or simply enjoy the bar with music and views of the hills. Shop for locally made art, pottery, soaps and visit the summer petting zoo. General stores and grocery stores are available 10 minutes away for all your vacation essentials. There are two bait stores, Speedway and St. Croix Outdoors, within 5 minutes on highway 8. There is ample designated parking on site. Please park your boat trailer in the upper back parking area. There is no overnight parking at the boat launch. Our local permit requires us to limit overnight guests to 8. They strictly enforce this condition. Please let us know if you need additional space for guests. We live in a Lakeside modern log cabin with a Guest room 4 doors away, and enjoy having friends and family stay with us. Please keep in mind that the wifi typically works reliably and given our rural location we cannot fully guarantee access at all times. There are several coffee houses and McDonalds nearby for those 'have to Zoom calls' in the event of a wifi disturbance. WI DNR requires one life jacket per person while on any watercraft. You do not have to wear one and one per person must be a board. There are life jackets in the storage shed next to the large U shaped dock. All local boat rentals include life jackets. From October 15-April 15 (Ice in to Ice out) you may see fishing folks walk or drive the road out front to access the frozen ice.
