Sunny south-facing, 300 square foot, self-contained, newly-renovated room with a private hot tub and a peekaboo ocean view. Situated on 10 lovely acres near Dinner Bay park, this studio on the ground floor of the main house has its own private entry through french doors off of a 400 square foot covered deck. Enjoy the french café decor. Perfect for a couple or a solo Gulf Island getaway. Coffee, tea and light breakfast items provided. Restaurants and stores are a 10 minute drive away. The cozy, modern room features a queen size bed, smart TV, LED fireplace, table and chairs, and a freshly-renovated bathroom with heated floors. Nespresso machine, drip coffee maker, electric kettle, teapot, bar fridge/freezer, coffee. tea, sugars, and light breakfast items provided. Outside, find a propane Weber bbq, patio furniture, and private hot tub. Beach towels and outdoor blankets provided. There is ample free vehicle and bicycle parking in the driveway or in the carport. Strong WiFi, Scrabble, cards, and cribbage board provided. A bocce ball and croquet set are available to take to Dinner Bay Park or play in one of our large paddocks on the property. Enjoy the south-facing views of Salt Spring and Prevost Islands, while the ravens fly overhead and the Arbutus trees sway in the wind. Say hello to one of our free-range egg-laying chickens walking around the yard. We always have fresh eggs for sale! Mayne is a great island to explore because its main roads form a rough circle around the island, so you can choose different ways to get to the same locations. It's best to explore with a vehicle or bicycle. It's lovely to just walk around our property or the neighbourhood. It is a ten minute walk to Dinner Bay Park with the Japanese Gardens and beach access. There is free parking near the suite. We respect our guest's privacy, but will be available by text or phone. The suite's french doors have a keyless passcode entry, so keys do not need to be exchanged. Breakfast items and dishes are exchanged through a container outside the french doors. There is no kitchen sink so leave dishes in the container outside and we'll do the dishes for you! The room is located on 10 acres off of a private road, so it is very quiet with little traffic passing by. It is a 10 minute walk to Dinner Bay Park, beach access, the disc golf course, and the Japanese Gardens. The property is a two minute drive from the ferry. Most restaurants, grocery stores, and shops are about a ten minute drive away in Miner's Bay, Bennet Bay, or the Fernhill Centre. Mayne is a great island to explore because its main roads form a rough circle around the island, so you can choose different ways to get to the same locations. It's best to explore with a vehicle or bicycle. We provide guests with a handbook of places to eat, drink, order takeout, shop, hike, swim, kayak, and explore. Most restaurants and stores are a 10 minute drive away. If you do not have transportation, the suite is about a 20 minute walk from the ferry terminal. There is a community bus that will pick up passengers at the terminal for a small donation for a ride. Ferries only run a couple of times a day, so plan ahead for your trip. If coming from Victoria be sure to arrive early for the sailing to ensure passage. If coming from Tsawwassen, make a reservation well in advance.
