Welcome to Inn the Navy! A true beauty along the sandy shores of Lake Michigan. Inn the Navy is a 100 year old beach cottage that has been lovingly restored to share it's charm as well as offer all the modern amenities of today. The name, along with it's nautical touches around the home, are an ode to the owner's time spent in the U.S Navy. Each bedroom is named after one of the ships the owner was stationed on. This open concept cottage is flooded by an abundance of natural light and allows you to be at the gorgeous 12ft quartz island and take in the beauty of Lake Michigan at the same time. The dining area has seating for 12 along with another dedicated dining area with seating for 4. Typical of beach cottages of this era, this home boasts a beautiful year round porch that offers plenty of seating for conversation or taking in the gorgeous sunsets in the evening. Along with the gorgeous kitchen and dining areas, the main floor of this home also offers a large living room to relax and enjoy the smart tv, play games or cozy up by the (gas) fireplace. On the main floor you will also find two bedrooms with queen beds in each, a bunk room with a trundle and the main floor bath with a shower/tub combo and beautiful vintage trough sink. The lower level is home to a large family room with a smart tv and sectional seating. As well as another 3 bedrooms, 2 with queen beds in each and one with 3 built in twin beds and a queen bed. The windows on the lower level are all above grade which lets in loads of natural light. Step outside to the rec area and start the competition! With plenty of conversation seating, this area has an outdoor ping pong table and custom corn hole boards. Around the property are 2 picnic tables for outdoor dining as well as a fire pit area to make the perfect s'mores. Situated in the historical area of Sheridan Beach, this place will steal your heart away and have you coming back for more. Just an hour drive from Chicago, this area is perfect for any time of the year. Whether it be a week long vacation in the Summer or a weekend getaway throughout the year, this is a truly special place. Inn the Navy is just down the street from the Washington Park Zoo and minutes away from the Uptown Arts District, Blue Chip Casino and Lighthouse Place Outlet Mall. Take a short drive and you are at America's newest national park, the Indiana Dunes National Park with 15 miles of coastline and beaches, and more than 70miles of hiking trails.
