We discount Sunday pricing for this reason. WINTER GUESTS: We provide snow shovels, and you'll need to shovel the sidewalk between parking and front door (approx. 20 feet). It's part of Winter in North Idaho. If you're unable to shovel a little snow, then please don't book our property during Winter months as we are unable to shovel the sidewalk for you during your stay. Thank you. You'll have the entire property to yourself, except the laundry room in the main house, which may be used by our cleaning crew (via the garage). You'll have the entire property to yourself if you book Quail Ridge (other than the laundry room, which the cleaning crew may access if they need to do laundry). Private and "secluded" in the woods, you'll feel like you're miles from town -- yet we're just 5 minutes from Bonners! If you need a cup of sugar for those cookies you're making, it's a quick trip down the hill to the 24-hr grocery store. The neighborhood Deer and Wild Turkeys will probably visit daily, and keep your eyes open for Hummingbirds, Bald Eagles, and even an occasional Bobcat or Cougar. WINTER/SNOW NOTE: To answer some frequently-asked questions: It snows in Bonners Ferry. Sometimes a lot, sometimes a little. Sometimes unexpectedly. There can be snow on the roads, and snow on the driveway - especially at the gate to our property. Please plan for snow: Carry emergency supplies/kit in your vehicle. A front-wheel-drive, AWD, or 4WD vehicle is a good idea in the winter. You'll want to watch the forecast and plan accordingly. The main/paved roads are plowed and sometimes sanded by the County, but there is a steep road between our property and town that can be notoriously slick. There is an alternate route that is a bit longer way around to get to town if the roads are bad. We recommend you watch the weather and if it's going to snow a lot, you'll want to pick up some extra groceries and hunker down and enjoy the winter view from the property and wait until the road conditions improve. We live on a private gravel road that is shared with 6-8 neighbors. The neighbors plow the gravel road up to our gate. Inside our gate: We don't plow the driveway.... if there's snow, you'll need to shovel the driveway to keep it clear during your stay and to prevent ice buildup (shovels available onsite) for future guests. Shoveling snow is part of the adventure of a winter vacation! Winter driving can be challenging. Take it slow and easy. Plan ahead and allow extra time. It's better to make it there safely than quickly. WINTER GUESTS: Guests will need to shovel approx. 20' of sidewalk to keep clear of snow; shovels provided.
