Our home is located in quiet neighborhood 2 miles from I-85 corridor. Our quaint quirky 1938 home was recently upgraded. It has 2-bedrooms (1 queen bed and 1 twin daybed with trundle), 1-bath, full kitchen, laundry room and family room with ample side/back yard our outdoor patio offers, in the warm season, relaxing seating, a firepit, outdoor games, a gas grill, and dining area. The house was built in 1938. Our small cottage is no exception to the rule that houses built back then offered basic function. However we have upgraded the interior but kept the nuisances of craftmanship of that time. Built with shiplap walls, original doors, original baseboard, cast iron tub, and the brick fireplace (though missing the old pot belly stove). The rooms are cozy, comfortable, and completely decorated with comfort in mind. Our relaxing cottage will appeal to many and various tastes be it décor or location. Pecan trees abound our little yellow door cottage. From the kitchen window you will see a host of God's creatures such as, deer, cardinals, squirrels, rabbits and a turtle foraging around the in the wood. Somewhere in those woods is a little water system like a creek or a brook (there is not a specific trail). We believe you will return again and again to The Legacy Cottage of Salisbury. No access restrictions in the livable space however, the cellar is off limits to all guests and the supply pantry. The neighborhood is a family friendly community. We have a mix of generational residents, returnees, and newcomers. The town of East Spencer is experiencing a renewal and we wanted to be included as returnees. We love our little part of "small town" America and especially the quaintness of our neighborhood. Our street is wide therefore on-the-street parking is advised. A driveway curb cut is available however a new driveway has not been poured. We believe you will be comfortable parking your vehicle on the street. Salisbury is the nearest city about 2 miles away. Grocery, retail shopping and restaurants are within 5-15 minutes. A few attractions are Dan Nicholas Park, Historic National Cemetery & Confederate Prison, Tamarac Marina & Campground, Dr. Josephus Hall House, Piedmont Players Theatre, Salisbury Ghost Walk, Catawba College, Livingstone College, NC Transportation Museum that offers the Polar Express Train and Thomas & Friends Train rides, NC Museum of Dolls, Toys, & Miniatures. (Check schedules during Covid 19 dilemma). Other attractions are the City of Lexington historic Barbeque sites, and Boone Cave Park. Closest major cities are Winston Salem, Charlotte, Greensboro as well as other cities like Kannapolis, Lexington, Concord, Mooresville, & Statesville. Annual events in these nearby cities are: NASCAR & Motorsports, Muscadine Winery Trail, Hickory Furniture Mart, US White Water Center and more.
