Sweeping views (180 degrees+) of wild and wonderful West Virginia mountains! This modern cabin home is located on top of a mountain, fully surrounded by woods, and filled with modern necessities for everyday life. We have fiber optic Wi-Fi that is perfect for multiple simultaneous video calls during a "work-cation." Dog-friendly. Gorgeous, new outdoor fire pit. Close proximity to parks, hikes, lakes, rivers, and everything that you want from an outdoor WV escape. **to note: For the months of January, February, and March, the indoor fireplace will be available, and wood will be provided. A car that can handle winter conditions is recommended but not required. As the listing notes, fiber optic wifi is strong, and this is ideal for a remote worker(s) looking to experience a serene West Virginia winter in a secluded cabin** The nearly 2,000 square foot home is part of a homeowners association to take care of the roads and general properties, and has all the charm of a mountain cabin but in the comforts of a modern home. It sits on five wooded acres, which are great to explore right out the back door. The overall design is mid-century modern, and we are constantly renovating and making changes to the design elements of the home. The three spacious bedrooms sleeps up to six people comfortably with new beds, including a king, queen, and two singles. The living room has a new flat screen LCD TV with Roku access to your favorite streaming channels (Netflix, Disney +, HBO Max, and Hulu provided by the host). We also have amazingly fast WI-FI via fiber optic lines that are able to support multiple simultaneous streams (video conferencing, movies, music, etc). The indoor fireplace is off limits and closed off. However, the outdoor fire pit is accessible for guests with firewood provided under the house. The kitchen has all of the conveniences you will need to entertain for a house full of friends or just cook for two. It comes stocked with cookware and dishes, glasses, (including wine and champagne flutes), silverware, modern coffee maker, baking trays, mixing bowls, and anything you would expect in a full kitchen. There is also a four-seat breakfast table next tp the kitchen to enjoy your coffee while you start your day. The outdoor space has a brand new fire pit overlooking the West Virginia mountains, outdoor dining, and furniture. ***Additional note: this is a very dog friendly house - we love pups, and so do our normal guests! We have a phenomenal, licensed cleaning team that cleans after every guest, but it’ll always be a challenge to get every dog hair despite specialty vacuums and techniques. For this reason, we advise those with dog allergies to not stay at this property.*** Guest have access to the full home, and to the laundry room in the basement. That's the only thing available in the basement - owners store a few things in the basement, and ask that you don't touch them. I'm always available via messaging and phone. Likewise, we have a dedicated house manager who lives just down the mountain. TO NOTE: This is a modern home surrounded by deep West Virginian woods. The nature and views are the main drawing point, but please keep in mind that while we take measures to prevent bugs, this is the woods. Expect to see flies, ladybugs, and bugs around the property and inside the home. We have the property sprayed regularly, but West Virginia is wild and wonderful. The house sits on top of a mountain in a well-maintained mountain neighborhood. We recommend that you walk in the mornings and evenings along the country road (as seen in the pictures). Lost River is famously LGBTQ+ friendly. All are welcomed here and in this neighborhood. Come see true West Virginia hospitality in action!
