Modern Charm at Historic Farm Brewery

Nestled away in the small town of Amherst, Virginia, our farmhouse is part of the larger Camp Trapezium campus, which encompasses our brewery and taproom, housed in a renovated 200+ year old flour mill, as well as our working farm. Each room is unique and available for individual rental. This listing is for the entire house - 8 individual suites. Come and stay with us to see the magic that is Camp Trapezium! Formerly Amherst Milling Co., we transformed this property from one of the oldest feed mills in the state of Virginia into our brewery, farm, and 8-room Airbnb house. The site dates back to the 1790s, making it a true historic landmark and community institution. After a multi year renovation, you’ll feel right at home here. The historic Baldock house overlooks our brewery taproom as well as our working farm. We encourage you to explore the property – meet our farmers and sample our newest crops, dine in our taproom and get a bottle to go, to enjoy on the porch or around the firepit. Each room is unique, with a mix of new and antique pieces. Every suite comes outfitted with a minifridge and ice bucket, making it the perfect place to enjoy a beer in the comfort and privacy of your room. Common areas: Enjoy your morning coffee or evening beer on the front porch of the Baldock House. Complete with a seating area and porch swing, there is plenty of room to have a private conversation or enjoy the company of your fellow travelers. On the second floor is a smaller porch that overlooks the farm and stream that runs through the property. With a small seating area, it is the perfect place to enjoy the bucolic scenery. *Please note that the house does not have a kitchen. Each room has a mini fridge and Keurig machine, with the exception of Suite 7, which shares amenities with Suite 6.* Suite 1: Suite 1 is our largest suite, featuring a living room space attached to the bedroom and private bathroom. With soft pink fabrics, gold accents, and tons of space for lounging, you could easily spend your entire stay holed up reading a book with a beer in hand. Although, we recommend getting outside to explore the area! Suite 2: Suite 2 is one of our grandest rooms, with a canopy queen-sized bed, reading nook and a private bathroom. Pen your next novel from the writing desk, or lower your aspirations and just enjoy a drink chilled from your minifridge. Suite 3: Our most private suite is tucked around the side of the house, with its own private entrance and side porch. This suite is ADA compliant, with a ramp to the front door and fully accessible bathroom. Cozy and quaint, it's perfect for a quiet night away. Suite 4: Overlooking the taproom and front yard, Suite 4 features a full wall of windows, with loads of natural light when you want it, and curtains for when you want privacy. The reading nook is great for rainy days or quiet mornings. The queen size bed is plush and comfy. Suite 5: Suite 5 is located on the second floor of the house, overlooking our working farm. The room features a comfortable and plush queen size bed, a vintage country rocking chair, and a guitar. The bathroom is spacious with a walk-in shower. Suites 6: The bedroom is spacious and comfortable, with a queen size bed and locally found antique furniture and finishes. Suite 7: Suite 7 features two twin beds, rattan-style furniture, and a bright, colorful palate. With its prime view of the farm, you’ll be able to see what’s for dinner tonight! Please note that this room does not include a mini fridge or Keurig machine. Suites 6 + 7 share a modern, spacious bathroom complete with a clawfoot tub, gold accents, and amazing natural light. These suites are located on the second floor, up one flight of stairs from the lobby. Suite 8: Suite 8 is a secluded space situated on the third floor of the house. It features a windowseat overlooking the front yard, a perfect place for cozying up with a book. The queen size bed is comfy and plush, and there's a writing desk tucked in the corner. The private bathroom features a classic clawfoot tub and brass accents. Please note that Suite 8 is accessed by a very narrow staircase on the third floor of the building. It may not be ideal for guests with accessibility concerns or a significant amount of luggage. Dedicated parking for our Airbnb guests is available on the side of the house. Your suite is accessible via an August lock. Upon booking your suite through Airbnb, you'll receive a message through AirBnB from August inviting you to access the lock. We ask that you download the August app on your smartphone prior to arriving at Camp Trapezium to make for a seamless check-in process. Please use the Airbnb app to connect with us about anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable! Our property contains a brewery/permaculture farm/taproom. Just a 3 minute drive from Camp Trapezium is downtown Amherst, best known for its amazing antique shops. 20 minutes south is Downtown Lynchburg, featuring an abundance of shopping and dining options. Check out our guestbook for all of the details! *Please note that there are train tracks adjacent to our property and the train does pass through the area regularly, sometimes at night. While the house does not contain a kitchen, our taproom next door is open Wednesday through Friday for dinner, and weekends for lunch and dinner.
