Your Cozy & Pet-Friendly Home Base
Welcome to Highland House! Located in a quiet and leafy residential area within walking distance to the downtown Millinocket shops and restaurants, this characteristic home faces due east and benefits from plenty of natural light throughout the day. The three bedrooms are arranged with large groups in mind, and a full bathroom on each level makes it easy to get ready & out the door. The open kitchen and dining space are made for entertaining. A new smart TV and furniture as well as AC/heat pump make the living room the preferred place to relax after a day outdoors. The spacious backyard includes a grill, firepit, and outdoor seating area - another favorite gathering spot! For snowmobilers, you can reach maintained trail directly from the house via the road (1/3 mi) or alternatively you can drop your trailer at the Northern Timber Cruisers headquarters just 1.5mi away with ample parking and access to multiple trails. Check the Northern Timber Cruiser's website for current conditions and grooming. Our guests have access to the washer & dryer units in the basement, and there's also parking onsite for vehicles & snowmobiles in a shared driveway. For those driving electric vehicles, there is a Tesla Supercharger just off I-95 on your way to Millinocket. We are avid animal lovers and welcome well-behaved and well-mannered pets after discussing with us ahead of time. There is an additional $40 fee payable through AirBnB or VRBO when booking your reservation. There is also a park directly across the street which makes for the perfect place to walk your dog. What's more, Highland House is equipped with the fastest Internet available in the area (300 Mbps), making it a great place to work remotely while exploring the area. Come see for yourself what makes this area so special. We're looking forward to your stay! Note: For safety and security, we have one motion-activated security camera facing the back door of the house which will be active during all stays. FAQs: Q: How close are the snowmobile trails? A: Just 1/3 mile! See the listing photos for an aerial view and take a look at the map published by the Chamber of Commerce for a better sense of the area routes. Q: How many vehicles/snowmobiles/ATVs can I park? A: The driveway is shared and measures 90 feet long x 18 feet wide. Please ensure your vehicles and trailers will fit (you may use the garage as well), or plan to utilize the Northern Timber Cruiser's lot for additional storage. Q: Is early check-in available? A: Check-in is at 4pm, but we can occasionally allow an early check-in of 2pm if another group is not checking out that same day. We won't know until a couple of days before your reservation if this will be the case, so please ask closer to your arrival date and we can give you a definite answer. Q: Are pets allowed? A: Yes, this is a pet-friendly rental. Please let us know beforehand as there is a $40 additional charge for pets, and we ask that you keep them off of furniture and beds. Q: What if the weather is bad/there's no snow? Can I cancel? A: Our cancellation policy allows for a full refund up to 14 days ahead of arrival and a 50% refund between 7 and 14 days. Just as our guests expect to have their reservations honored, we also rely on consistent bookings to continue operations and do not have the ability to absorb last-minute cancellations as many hotels do. Though we can't control the weather, the Millinocket area has lots of rainy-day activities to keep you entertained any time of the year! Q: What is the Internet speed? A: We have the fastest, most stable connection available in the region - 300 Mpbs - which is more than enough to support multiple connected devices, streaming, and video calls.
