Spacious loft, two levels. Good light and acoustics. Upper level: mudroom, dining/kitchen, dressing/laundry room, full bath w/soaking tub. Under loft: sleeping nook, office space and half bath. Vaulted living room with wall of windows. Skylights. Cozy, eclectic furnishings. Off-street parking for one car. The Cabin is a hand-crafted space. Modern sensibility and technology meet salvaged-on-site materials. Textured. Tactile. Industrial. Homage to fire. Full of stories. But cozy, easy-living, unfussy, quiet. Fully fitted up and furnished with eclectic finds. Ideal for remote working and creative endeavor. Longer reservations favored. Host lives next door and is readily available. With confirmed reservations, arrangements will be made for greeting you on check-in day. Bristol is a lively, friendly little town, Gateway to the Green Mountains, overlooking the Champlain Valley. The Downtown Cabin is hidden away behind the one-block-long Main Street, quiet and private, with residential and commercial neighbors. Walkable to every convenience. Crystal-clear river and trails out the door. The Downtown Cabin is in the heart of Bristol Village, walkable to every convenience. Local trails and world-class cycling out the door. But plan on driving if you're headed out of town -- not much public transit here. Short drive to Long Trail and other trailheads and swimming holes. Middlebury 12 miles. BTV 35 minutes. The Cabin is built with lumber salvaged from the original building, much of it rough-sawn. It has all been cleaned and brushed, but some surfaces remain rough to the touch. A splinter kit is included just in case! Mobile phone reception in rural Vermont is spotty. Inside the Cabin, wifi calling is a handy thing. Three-night minimum for long holiday weekends.
