Summary: Book your summer getaway in the Berkshires now! Relax in country life! Enjoy the peace and natural beauty of the Berkshires at Chalet des Collines: your own ski-themed country escape set on 2 acres of a lovely meadow in the Taconic Range. Every day, you'll wake up to stunning views of rolling hills from the large picture windows in the upstairs bedrooms. In summer, enjoy a day of mountain biking at Catamount (a 5 minute drive) or hiking to the waterfalls at Bash Bish Falls, before relaxing in a comfortable Adirondack chair by the fire pit in the meadow. Or spend the day at local farms before preparing a meal in our gourmet kitchen and hosting family at the large dining table. Whether you seek a quiet place to work (with fast internet!), a refuge for relaxation, or a hub for exploring the skiing, hiking, and cultural life of the Berkshires, the Chalet is a cozy getaway for any season. WHAT TO EXPECT We've taken care of most of the things you'll need, including thorough, professional cleaning with disinfectants; crisp, fresh linens and fluffy towels from Brooklinen; all-natural toiletries from Public Goods; basic kitchen equipment; and some pantry staples (e.g. salt, etc.). If you're planning a big meal, or need something more specific, there are gourmet grocers and large supermarkets are nearby, as well as outstanding restaurants in Great Barrington, Hillsdale, and beyond. You'll enjoy open access to the house, screened porch, and expansive grassy yard. We provide electronic access to the house with a personal guest code. You'll receive the code 5 days prior to checkin, though your code will only activate at check-in. Since we value privacy on our own travels, we generally give guests lots of space. But our property management office is in town, so we're nearby and happy to help. Check out our House Guide for tips. WHAT TO PREPARE The Berkshires are a stunning mountain region and Great Barrington is at the nexus of the Berkshires and the Hudson Valley, so you'll find everything from gourmet food and coffee shops, shopping, yoga, and more. You're also close to hiking on the Appalachian Trail, swimming in nearby spring-fed lakes, skiing at Catamount and Butternut, arts and cultural institutions, and more. You'll find plenty of things to do. We've assembled a list of our favorites in the House Guide, and we're happy to answer additional questions by text. You'll need a car to get here and get around--and the drive will be beautiful! Since cell service can be inconsistent in the country, we recommend that you download local maps to your phone before your trip. IMPORTANT NOTES This is a smoke-free property. Although the Posto Property team loves animals, the owners of this property do not permit pets. To ensure a safe and comfortable stay, the owners and of this property require that all guests sign a Short-term Rental agreement that clearly sets forth the terms and conditions of your stay. We provide detailed check-in information 5 days prior to your arrival, and we are pleased to answer your questions at any time.
