Nice cozy retreat for a single person or small group up to 3. Enjoy your evening wine or morning coffee near a wood burning stove while gazing at the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Outside the fence, there is a shared driveway with the neighboring residence. I am fully accessible by phone. The guests can call me at anytime. And my family will address any issue that comes up. The house is located within Santa Fe County in a small rural community called El Valle de Arroyo Seco. Direct 20 minute drive from Santa Fe on HWY 285. Minutes from the highroad turnoff to Taos, south of the town of Espanola. It's surrounded by BLM (federally owned ) land that stretches to Taos, also known as Georgia O'Keefe Country. Centrally located on the route to all Northern towns: Abiquiu, Taos, Velarde, Ghost Ranch, Jemez Mountains, Ojo Caliente, Chama, Buffalo Thunder, Los Alamos, Pilar, Dixon, Angel Fire, Red River, Tesuque, Nambe, Pojoaque, and Pagosa Springs Colorado. Surrounded by outdoor activities in every direction including hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, rafting, tubing, fly fishing, rock climbing, soaking in hotsprings or wine tasting at the local vineyards. This area embodies the true essence of Northern New Mexico. Most families in the area have deep roots that go back generations and are tied together through shared history, language, and culture. As with much of the Northern part of the state, It is a mixed level income area with diverse style homes from mobile homes to Spanish adobe haciendas. Better suited for the traveler who has an appreciation for the un-uniform, and less manicured surroundings. It's a very rural and relaxed setting with neighboring pets that might roam the property. And you might get a glimpse of the regions internationally acclaimed low-riders while driving around. A true depiction of Northern New Mexico . I'll be sharing a guide at the house of my favorite things to do. Born and raised in New Mexico, I love to provide tips and guidance on the incredible activities all around. ANIMAL DISCLAIMER- Please be mindful that some of the neighboring properties have dogs that will come say hi within the property grounds. They are sweet well cared for dogs but please don’t feed them. Please let me know if you intend on bringing a certified service animal, as I cannot control how the animals might respond to one another. Guest must assume all risk of service pet injury. TEMPERATURE CONTROL- The heat thermostat is in the living room. For optimum heat during cold winter nights, you might want to use the wood stove as well with complimentary wood provided. If you can remember, please turn the thermostat off when you checkout. NOISE- In the winter the heating vents run a little loud. However, we offer a wood stove with a plentiful amount of wood for a quieter heating option. We also provide earplugs if vent noise is a concern. 4WD-Although it is unusual for poor road conditions to last in the winter, please be aware, we do have occasional snowfall that might freeze. A 4WD vehicle might be useful in any part of the Santa Fe area during the winter.
