The Doctor’s Inn - renovated 1920s village house

Come stay in this beautifully restored 1920s doctor's home in downtown Central Lake. Just across from Thurston Park, with a great playground, and easy access to Intermediate Lake and the Chain of Lakes, The Doctor's Inn is perfect for a relaxing getaway. Get up early to enjoy a mug of coffee on the deck and the sunrise over the lake or a glass of wine while the kids scamper at the park. Just two blocks to Mammoth Distillery, Bachman's, and Fudgees, a perfect location for couples or families. As much was kept original in this home as possible, but some of the fun stuff was updated. Original floors throughout the home, with the exception of the kitchen. The Doctor's Inn has a beautiful, fully equipped kitchen, with Cambria countertops and a dishwasher to make your stay as refreshing as possible. The kitchen includes cooking oil and some spices, so you can enjoy dinner and wine on the covered deck, looking out at the lake. The floors are warmed on cool days, with in-floor radiant heat. You will find three bedrooms, two upstairs and one downstairs, and a bathroom on each floor, comfortable and able to suit your needs. The upstairs bathroom has antique clawfoot tub for soaking and the downstairs bathroom has a tiled stand up shower. A pack n' play is available with notice. A SmartTV is located in the living room, where you can log into your favorite streaming app. As our guests you have access to the entire home and yard, excluding the basement. We are always in the area, but we respect our guests desire for privacy. We're just an airbnb message away if any needs arise, or if you have any questions or need recommendations in the area. Our neighbor hood is one of the best in small town northern Michigan living. We've got Intermediate Lake *right* out the door, and a zillion other lakes within a 5-10 min drive. (Can you tell we love our lakes?!) We have the best small town distillery just two blocks away. Handcrafted cocktails, made with local ingredients (some of which come from our farm!), can't be beat. Great outdoor seating and friendly bartenders. Be sure to tell them you are a friend of ours! Bachman's is our town staple - "if they don't have it, you don't need it" and let me tell you, they've got the bomb candy counter. Doesn't matter how old you are, do not miss this one. Fudgees has the most creative fudge and flurry flavors! Including one where you choose your own candy at Bachman's to mix in across the street at Fudgees! Also just a few blocks away, you'll find the North Street Nature Trail! Great for a little hike to help digest your dinner and prepare you for your Fudgees. Any extra guests will be charged $20/person/night.
