Enjoy a quiet, relaxing week in the north woods of Hayward, WI! Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin sleeps six comfortably (queen, 2 single beds and a futon). Cabin is two levels and 1500 square ft. The cabin is located on the Namekagon River with direct access to Hayward Lake and the public boat launch just a few hundred feet away. You really get the best of both worlds here as the cabin is tucked away in a private, wooded area but is also walking distance to downtown Hayward and other attractions!! This is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed and the other has two single beds (day bed set up). There is also a futon to sleep on. One of the bathrooms has a shower and the other has a whirlpool tub. It is 2 levels with a total of 1500 square feet. You will access the cabin with an electronic keypad on the door - code and more detailed instructions will be given to you prior to your stay. There is a parking lot which is shared with other cabins on the same property. This cabin has two dedicated spaces although they are not marked. There is a good amount of room in the dirt lot for trailers, etc. You can also park on Dyno Drive which is the road that the cabin is on. It is a quiet road. I have a property manager in Hayward and am also available by phone. The indoor fireplace is not currently usable. We totally understand that some guests may want to use it. Unfortunately it just poses too many risks and potential issues for regular use. A fire outside is obviously completely fair game and encouraged! Thanks for understanding! FAQS: Q: Can we check-in early or check-out late? A: It depends. Check in is at 3pm. We really would love for it to be earlier and can occasionally accommodate that but not often (our cleaner is busy!). Ask me and we will do our best to let you know as soon as your cabin is available. We and our cleaning staff have strict protocols to follow and can't always have the cabin ready earlier than 3pm. Feel free to use the common grounds such as the firepits, docks, and shoreline beforehand but please allow our cleaning crew the space they need to properly prepare your space. Check out at 11am is as late as we can go - our cleaners need to get in there to make things perfect for our next guests! Q: Is there WiFi and is it any good? A: Yes and yes! We upgraded our router in 2020. We've had many guests stay and "work from home" and students that complete their coursework from the cabin without a single complaint. Q: Do we have cable TV? A: No, we recently upgraded to smart TVs and "cut the cord". Please log in to your favorite streaming services. Just remember to log out before you leave. Q: Do we provide firewood for campfires? A: No, however you can purchase firewood at several local convenience stores and grocery stores for $5-6 per bundle. Marketplace foods is very close to the cabin and sells good wood. Often times previous guests will leave unused firewood behind so you might just get lucky and not need to purchase any at all. We do have a couple lighters at the cabin. Q: Is the water safe to drink? A: Yes! We are on the city water line so it is safe to drink and cook with. There is both hot and cold water. The water heater is tankless so be patient - it takes just a little longer to get there. Q: Do I have to clean up before I check-out? A: Your certainly don't have to do anything at all if you don't want to. It would be appreciated if you would start the dishwasher with dirty dishes, strip the beds that you used so our cleaner knows what to wash and leave your dirty towels on the floor again so our cleaner knows what needs to be washed. Q: Is it a contactless check-in? A: Yes, it is self check-in and check-out. You will receive a code to the electronic keypad a couple days before your stay. Q: Can I swim in the lake? Is there a beach? A: We have a shoreline with 3 docks but the water gets deep pretty quickly off the shoreline. There are a few spots where it's a little shallower. For a true sandy beach, head to Hayward City Beach which is less than one mile from the cabin. Q: Is there enough room to park a boat/trailer? A: Yes! The parking area is large enough for several vehicles. If you have a trailer, you can back in park in three different areas. We just ask that you not block anyone else in. Q: Do we have a boat landing? A: No, not at our location however there is a public boat launch about a half mile away. You can launch your boat there and tie it down on one of our docks! It's much less than a half mile by boat from the launch to the docks. Q: What kind of fish are in Lake Hayward? A: Musky, panfish, Bass, Northern Pike, Trout, and Walleye. Q: Do we have boat or canoe/kayak rentals? A: No we don't however Hayward Outfitters/Hayward Water Sports does and they are less than a half mile away, right next to the boat launch. Q: Are there hiking trails nearby? A: There is a paved trail near the parking area for a brief, leisurely stroll. Otherwise check out the Hayward Chamber of Commerce site for hiking and other outdoor activities. Q: Are there ATV/Snowmobile trails close by? A: Yes. Trail access is just across the street from the parking area. You can find trail maps on the Hayward Lakes site or Sawyer County Alliance site. If you have any other questions, I'd be glad to answer them!
