Peaceful Cottage on the Licking River Sleeps 10

We're a Unique Stay with Answers in Genesis and host thousands of families going to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. Fully stocked kitchen, small coffee bar, wifi, open living area with smart TV and DVD player and laptop space. Inside, you can comfortably accommodate families or small groups. This home is primarily set up for parents with grandparents and kids. Outside, there is a basketball court, playground and several open acres to play, walk and enjoy your stay. The space The kitchen is stocked with basics for family cooking and eating, children’s dishes (plastic if you feel more comfortable using those), a small coffee area and basic cleaning supplies. There are large towels for adults and smaller towels for hair or children, as well as plenty of washcloths. With children and your relaxation in mind, there are no bunk beds and limited knick-knacks in open view. We do have a few coloring books, toys and books for toddlers and younger readers. Inside the TV cabinet, there are cards, family-friendly games and limited DVDs. Under the coffee table, there are a few puzzles in different age ranges and abilities. We try to stock a few snack items in case you get in late or have a late morning and need snacks. Please make sure you let us know the number of people in your party so that we can set up your time with us appropriately. We don’t charge any per person fees, but we want to make sure we stock linens and consumables for your stay (e.g., if you say two people but you have ten, you may be running to the store for toilet paper tomorrow morning). Bedroom 1 – Queen bed across the hall from the bathroom. Bedroom 2 – Higher bed with trundle underneath as well as a separate twin bed. Bedroom 3 – Three (3) twin beds in a U shape with room for kids to play, if needed. Utility Room – Off the kitchen is a very large utility room with a full-sized futon bed that can sleep two. Linens are provided and if we are told that you have a party of 10, we will have this ready for you. Guest access You will have the whole house and can also tour any of the property that is open at the campgrounds. Location This cottage is located at Laurel Bend, a 27-acre campground. As our guest, you are welcome to roam the property and use any of the amenities we have, which include a basketball court, playground area, picnic tables and trails. There is public boat launch access across the street and we are just a few miles away from Kincaid Lake State Park. There may be additional guests and activities on the property, but there is plenty of room. Laurel Bend is currently hosts mainly family and youth groups, as well as a limited number of rent campers. Our main purpose is to a create a safe and enjoyable, family-friendly venue for weddings, reunions and other retreats while providing work and job training for adults with developmental disabilities. Part of our program will involve animals, so as we progress, or rotate pastures, there are angora goats and alpacas grazing within fenced areas. With that in mind, we are not accepting pets at this time. Getting Around Almost every guest we host is visiting the Ark Encounter (35 mins) and Creation Museum (55 mins), staying with us to enjoy the peaceful property and surroundings. There are several small restaurants around, listed on the blackboard in the kitchen, but we are just a 10 minute walk to The Smoking Pig Tavern in town. Cancellations See cancellation policy. Outside of the cancellation policy, we are usually happy to refund any unused stay if we rebook the date. Because we have a two day minimum to cover additional cleaning fees not passed on to guests, stays reduced to one day will be charged actual cleaning and laundry costs (around $200 vs the cleaning fee charged here).
