Oasis in Oakland

Recently renovated two bedroom apartment located in the heart of downtown Oakland within walking distance to area restaurants, lounges and shopping. Less than 15 minutes to multiple state parks, including Deep Creek Lake and Swallow Falls, as well as the Wisp Ski Resort and Deep Creek Lake attractions. The town of Oakland is a hidden gem, overshadowed by Deep Creek Lake, but believe us, there is plenty to do in our amazing area! Restaurants/Food: Oasis in Oakland is centrally located within walking distance to three great restaurants- Vagabond Taproom (is right across Alder street), Tomanetti’s (across the Railroad Bridge) and Sipside Lounge (across 2nd Street). If you’re looking for dessert in the summer, be sure to visit Deviler’s Ice Cream, located near the town Pavilion. Shopping: There are two great shops located on the first floor of your building. Gean & Olive and Favorite Things Gift Shops are right downstairs. There are lots of other fun shops to visit, including clothing, books, antiques, and don’t forget Flipside Sounds, a record store, selling everything from vintage records to new releases! If you’re lucky enough to be here in the summer season, be sure to visit the Mountain Fresh Farmers Market located in the town pavilion by the railroad every Saturday. Otherwise it’s every other Saturday, at the Simon Pierce Factory. Check out their (Hidden by Airbnb) page- it’s worth the visit! What to Visit: Swallow Falls State Park is located about 15 minutes away with beautiful hiking trails and a 53 foot natural waterfall. Broadford Park is only 10 minutes away and is another great place to visit with a beautiful lake, trails, pavilions, picnic tables and grills. If you’re a golfer, definitely check out the Oakland Golf Club and be sure to grab a bite at Shrimp on the Barbie after your round. There are many more area attractions, and keep in mind that the Wisp Resort, Deep Creek Lake and all of their associated attractions are a quick 20 minute drive north. We hope you enjoy your stay at Oasis in Oakland! There is free parking at the town municipal parking lot a block away at the town pavilion. In addition, there is free street parking, but note that the town sometimes enforces the 2 hour time limit. Access: Please note that the unit is located on the third floor and the building does NOT have an elevator. There are two sets of stairs that must be used to access the unit. Guests with mobility challenges may find the stairs challenging. Noise: The unit is located in downtown Oakland and faces one of the main streets so guests should expect normal downtown noise during their stay. Also, there is a train that comes through downtown Oakland throughout the day and evening and guests will hear the train whistle at various points during their stay.
