Cottage No.6 underwent a complete remodel in 2021 and is situated in a residential neighborhood near Perry's Monument and a short walk to downtown. There are 2 patios out back. Grill some burgers on the gas grill followed by a relaxing evening on the concrete patio around the fire ring in the back yard . The front porch is screened in and a perfect place to unwind and enjoy a glass of island made wine. There is parking for one vehicle, but could possibly accommodate more, just ask. Built in 1938, Cottage 6 is one of 6 cottages, all built in a row and has spent its entire life as a rental. The cottage is 720 sq ft. with 3 bedrooms. The cottage retains most of it's original features and was completely updated in 2021. During the remodel the entire home was updated as well as the addition of a full size washer and dryer. The front entrance is through a screened in porch and leads to a small main room. The main room has a small entry table, television, and a daybed. All 3 bedrooms have televisions, black out curtains, and are located to the one side of the cottage. The bathroom features a shower only with sink and toilet. The kitchen has been updated with the addition of a dishwasher and electric stove. The cottage is on well water (with UV and charcoal filter) so if you are sensitive to well water I advise on bringing bottled water, or picking up some at our local store. It is easy to imagine all the wonderful memories made by families and friends over the years in the cottage. My goal is to accomplish the same and create a clean and cozy space where friends and families can gather year after year to do the same. I strive to provide you with the most comfortable stay possible. The kitchen has pots, pans, dishwasher, coffee maker & filters, toaster, plates, bowls, and utensils. Know that's is all not a matching set, but it's there. If there is anything missing you need , just ask and I'll do my best to provide it! Two bedroom feature queen size beds, and the middle bedroom has two twin beds. The front bedroom has a desk suitable for working from home. Usb ports are in all bedrooms as well as reading lights and closet space. All the televisions have local antenna channels only, but all are smart TV's and you are welcome to sign in to any of your streaming accounts. You will be provided clean linens for the beds and bath. We also have extra blankets, towels, and sheets, again if you need anything please just ask. The backyard features a concrete patio off the back of the house, gas grill, small firepit (firewood is provided), and a partial view of the lake as you exit the cottage. I want you to fully enjoy your island experience and will do anything I can to accommodate you as my guest. Cottage 6 is a work in progress. No maintenance will take place (unless emergency) during your stay. For 2021 I will be restoring and repainting the outside of the original windows and working on improving the landscaping. There is room to park one car on the property. You are welcome to bring one car and have a golf cart in the lawn. Either myself or my co-host Bobbi will be available to assist with check in and check-out . While we can offer you complete privacy, I live right next door and I or Bobbi will always be available to answer any questions or concerns during your stay. I love to stay busy maintaining my properties. There is a good chance you'll see me outside working in my yard. Don't hesitate to say hello! Perhaps I'm partial, but our neighborhood is a cozy dead end street located in the most perfect spot on the island! We are at the edge of the Village of Put In Bay right next to Perry's monument as well as on the narrowest part of the island. A short walk down down either end of our street provides a view of Lake Erie. Walk to the end of the street for a spectacular summertime sunset as you enjoy the view of the boats in the bay. Our neighbors are all friendly and consist of young couples, families, and children. If you enjoy a morning walk, it's one mile out to the end of the east side of the island. There are two nature preserves along the way great for watching the birds or casting a line into the lake. It's a ten minute walk along the lake to the heart of downtown making it close enough to all the entertainment, but far enough for a quiet evening by the fire. There are two ferry boats that can bring you to the island. Either the Miller Ferry or Jet Express. If coming by the Miller you are able to bring you car or walk on. The Miller will drop you off at the opposite end of the island so you will need a golf cart (available at dock) or grab a cab to the house. The Jet Express is people only but brings you right to downtown. Its a short walk to the house or you can also get a golf cart or cab. Most people choose to rent a golf cart, be sure to ask if they are overnight rentals or need returned daily. The laundry is washed in Tide free and sensitive and Downy cool cotton fabric softener. If that is an issue for you please let us know at time of booking and you are welcome to bring your own linens. Since we are on an island on Lake Erie and 300' feet away from the water, depending on the time of year is can get a little buggy at night. It's totally normal and the bugs are harmless. There is free Wi-Fi for your use. The service is provided for your enjoyment but you are responsible for safe and appropriate use complying with all laws. If there is any loss of service please contact us, however, we are located on an island, so internet service can be spotty. No refunds will be given for lack of or loss of Wi-Fi/internet service.
