Wandering Star

Wandering Star is perfect for one or two guests who would like to enjoy the desert or the river. Topock is surrounded by BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land that is completely open to explore. Wandering Star is located one street over from the edge of town and is the perfect place to start your adventure. The property is fully fenced and large enough for you to bring your UTV or boat. We are located 5-miles from Topock Marina, where you can launch your boat and enjoy the beautiful river. Wandering Star is a newly remodeled, 500 square foot, L-shaped open space with a kitchenette, dining table, coffee bar, restroom, living space with a nice sitting area, desk, and comfortable queen size bed. There is a spacious backyard with a clay chiminea fire pit and two relaxing chairs. The custom fence surrounding the yard contains a unique feature that allows for an unobstructed view of the amazing desert. Providing our guests with peace of mind is our number one priority. Wandering Star is completely disinfected after each guest's stay, including changing and laundering all linens. We are proud to pay our cleaning team a living wage. Therefore, if you book an extended stay and would like a cleaning service, please let us know, we will be happy to make the arrangements. We hope you enjoy Wandering Star as much as we do! Guests will have access to the entire studio space, front yard, and back yard. The front door is equipped with a keypad for self-check-in. Code will be provided 24-hours before check-in or sooner. Important to note: The property is fully fenced and shares a side with the home next door. The neighbor and small dog are friendly and quiet. Bucky tends to bark when guests arrive; however, he usually quiets down. You may hear him from time to time as he loves to chase birds in his yard. For your comfort, the neighbor is happy to agree to the established quiet hours. The neighborhood is comprised of locals, snowbirds, and weekenders. Some have dogs who like to talk to one another, so you may hear a few during your stay. In the evening, the wild burros roam the neighborhood. You may experience some of their nighttime shenanigans! Otherwise, it is a relatively quiet neighborhood. If you love to walk, the "middle" of town is 1.1 miles from Wandering Star, a quick 23-minute walk. There is no public transportation. Wi-Fi in our little rural town is slower than you may be used to. Do not fear! The speed is sufficient enough to enjoy FireTV with Netflix on the 42-inch TV, as well as peruse the internet on your laptop or mobile device. Please be patient; you may experience slow loading. Please do not host loud parties, large gatherings, or permit overnight visitors. Quiet hours are from 10pm – 6am.
