Gorgeous little cabin on 1800s farmhouse estate. Former home to some spoiled chickens — their loss is your gain. Massive stone walls and enormous windows overlook garden and the Delaware river. Short walk to beach and tubing. The coop (now cabin) is a two story structure with living room and kitchen on lower level divided in half by staircase to second floor. Upper level has huge bedroom with king size bed, tiny bathroom, and a generous open area that can be used as an office (with desk), extra bedroom, or sitting area. Guests can roam free around the building -- or free range to garden, river, or 50 acres of private forest. Ask us for a map ! Host lives up the road at neighboring farm and is available at all hours for questions or requests. We coordinate canoeing and tubing day trips (100. for 3 person canoe trip or 30./tube including transport and life jackets) or can point you in the direction of hiking trails (free!) - some on our 50 acres of mountain forest — some to local parks and recreation areas. Dutch farm from early 1800s set next to river and the historic D&H Canal. New additions include nearby campgrounds and glamping, waterfront theater and beaches. Mountains on all sides and a steep climb up hill to biking and hiking. Bring your own car to explore the river corridor and its many many scenic and charming towns -- or ride the train/bus to Port Jervis and let us do the driving. Then imagine what it is truly like to live and be bound to the land. We expect many will never want to leave.
