The cabin is located about 1.5 miles down a maintained dirt road, accessible by most vehicles April through October. Cabin is located close to the road for ease of parking and unloading, but on a typical weekend will find maybe 5-10 cars passing through, the rest of the time your closest neighbor in any direction is half a mile away. There is no air conditioning, main living area has an overhead fan and personal fans provided in the bedroom. Please note this is a rustic, off grid cabin surrounded by wilderness, and in full disclosure, while every attempt is made to keep the home and surrounding area critter-free, mice have been caught in the cabin - typically during periods of inactivity and bees / wasps occasionally take up residence under the eaves (until we can clear them out). Additionally, depending on weather conditions, you may experience mosquitoes. Guests have full and private access to the cabin and surrounding property. The cabin and surrounding property will be yours alone during your stay. We're always available via phone, text or email - while we live out of town, we have local resources available for any emergency needs. Self check-in via keypad lock. Let us know if you any special requirements or requests. You could stock up on provisions for the weekend and never leave - as we've done plenty of times - exploring the expansive property, lazing around the yard and cooling off in the brook. However, the property is also a great jumping off spot for exploring the nearby Hilltowns & Berkshires. An easy 15-minute drive to explore local waterfalls, hikes and swimming holes. Nearby markets and restaurants also ensure you don't need to drive too far to restock and grab a bite. 30-60 minute scenic drive to most of the major Western Mass attractions, detailed area information to be provided upon booking.
