Once you are there, enter Chickadee Chalet's address. This is important because sometimes the GPS will not give you the correct directions if you just put in the chalet's address. Distance from major cities: Morgantown, WV - 40 miles away Pittsburgh, PA - 3 hour drive Washington DC - 3.5 hour drive Baltimore, MD - 3.4 hour drive Enjoy access to free Wifi to work and attend school virtually. We do NOT rent to partiers. Please do not book the Chickadee Chalet if your group intends to do heavy drinking, blare music and be loud disruptive guests. If you bring a pet, you must clear it with me first. Please note that there is a non-refundable $100 pet cleaning fee. We ask that if you bring a pet, you follow the cabin rules; the pet(s) must be housebroken, no pets on the furniture and clean up after your pet. Sometimes the water pipes make a loud groaning noise when water is turned on. At this point, the plumbers have not been able to fix the noise. The first floor (basement), although there is a 4th bedroom (BR) and a semi-private 5th BR, it does not have a bathroom, but does have a sink. The forest around us is a habitat for wildlife. We believe in biodiversity and it is entirely possible to see a multitude of birds, rabbits, deer herds, ground hogs, oppossum, raccoons, bears and any other organism that lives in the mountains. Summer months: We do have AC, but only in the first level (basement). Most cabins in the resort do not have air conditioning because we are in the mountains and there are far more cool days/nights than warm. However, if there is an unusual heat spell, the AC in the basement allows you to comfortably play games, sleep, watch TV and work in at least one area of the cabin. The other two upper floors, you can cool off by turning on the fans and opening the windows to allow the cool mountain breezes into the chalet. With all that said, the average temp, even in July/August is 75 degrees F. Love that mountain weather!
