Country Cabin 2

We tried to think of everything when we built these little cabins. These are a great size for one or two people. It has a full size bedroom with King size bed, full bathroom, complete laundry room, fully stocked kitchen and spacious living room. It’s decorated in a light fun beach/ coastal decor. It’s just a happy place for you to relax and enjoy while you’re here working or visiting friends. Dogs are allowed but we need to know in advance how many and what size pups you have traveling with you. They are accepted on a case to case basis. There is a 40.00 pet fee per dog per stay. Dogs must be kenneled or in dog run while you are away. We ask that you pick up your dogs poo in the yard. No dogs on the bed or furniture. You will need to sign our rental agreement for dog rules. We have security cameras outside on the front of the cabin. The property is well lit inside and out. There are porch lights on the front and back porches. There are motion detector flood lights the cabin that are bright. Fully fenced yard and a large dog run off the back deck. We built an owners storage building on to the cabin recently. There is another cabin next door that is a STR also. They are now connected by the storage shed. (New County rules) The cabin walls don’t connect. It’s a one bedroom as well so only 1-2 ppl are there at any time. We have an RV on the property as well. It’s usually gone in the winter. The neighborhood is quite and the neighbors are very nice. We have had very pleasant guests and love hosting travelers. We have changed our minimum stay to 28 days. We have enjoyed hosting guests that are here working short term. It’s been a pleasure to host traveling nurses, folks moving to our area and waiting for their homes to come available, extended business travel, internships for school and spending some extended time with family. Some guests have and are traveling to Ennis, Waxahachie, Red Oak and Dallas for work. Folks who don’t want to sign an apartment lease and move furniture etc... this is perfect for you! If your stay is longer than 1 month our cleaning lady will come in and do a light courtesy cleaning once a month. This includes cleaning bathroom, kitchen sink, vacuum floors, changing AC filters and some dusting. No dishes or laundry. We will call and schedule a time that works best for you and her. No yard work, everything is included. Note: You do have to take your trash can to the street for pickup 2 x a week. The house is all yours. Self check- in and out. The yard is fully fenced . You have a smaller dog run area around your back deck area. The deck is open so your pup can use it to shelter from the sun or rain. You can use the huge backyard to let your dog run free. This is a shared space if the guests next door have a dog. There is an unground storm/ tornado shelter in back you can use if needed. This is a shared space if there is a tornado warning. Feel free to call or text anytime. We don’t live on the property but do stop by occasionally to check on the property. We do not go into the cabins without your permission. We are on an acre of land in a very quiet rural neighborhood. It is an unincorporated part of Ellis county. The neighbors are also mostly on an acre of land. Some have horses, goats and chickens. It’s not unusual to see a lose horse or chicken. It’s not a fancy neighborhood. The neighbors are very nice. It’s an older established neighborhood. There are restaurants and shopping about 1-2 miles away. Downtown Ferris has some family owned restaurants. You can go into the nearby town Red Oak (5 miles) for a Super Walmart or many other popular eating places. Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, What a burger. Starbucks and a lot of other restaurants and grocery stores. Located between two major interstates I-35 and I-45 19 miles to Downtown Dallas 9 miles to Red Oak 15 miles to Waxahachie 15 miles to Ennis 32 miles to Corsicana Approximately 30-35 miles to the entertainment district in Arlington Texas. Texas Ranger baseball stadium, Dallas Cowboy stadium, Six Flags over Texas, Hurricane Harbor and Nokia Theatre. 40 miles to DFW Airport 28 miles to Love Field 45 miles to Ft. Internet There is only one internet company available in our area. It’s a satellite internet. It works great until you run out of mbps. It just goes slower. We have a package of100mbps a month. Its the biggest package they offer. It’s unlimited but after the100mbps are used it slows way down. It’s 160.00 a month. Not a great deal. I’m waiting for something better to show up in the area. If you are heavy into streaming this won’t last long. We ask that you use your hotspot for streaming to ensure you have plenty of internet for the month. If you want more data I have to buy a few mbps to get more. You are welcome to pay the difference. The more devices you use the more data you use. We provide Direct TV for watching tv shows and movies. In the 2 1/2 years we’ve had our vacation rental only two guests have needed more Mbps. They both were heavy streamers and stayed one month or longer. If you have access to hotspot on your devices that works well in a pinch. I just want to be up front so all guests understand how the internet works. I can see how many MBps a guest has used and on what device so everyone gets their fair share of data. This seems to be working fine. I have both cabins rented with my current guests who have been here since January and it’s May as I’m writing this. No complaints!
