As seen on 'Living Big in a Tiny House', enjoy a one of a kind experience while you escape the city and getaway to nature on a sustainable 12 acre homestead. Just minutes from I5 this house takes tiny to a whole new level! Custom living spaces downstairs and the upstairs bedroom, accessed via a spiral staircase, overlooks the valley. Relax on the private deck as you take in the sunset and enjoy the wonder of the Highlander cows & their friends, explore the gardens, or simply relax! With a full kitchen, you are ready to nestle in for a stay and enjoy the peaceful valley and all nature has to offer. Because we do all of our own improvements, we are constantly working around the property and there is always a new fun project just over the horizon ;) Sig, our working LGD, is part of the family too and keeps all our animal friends safe from the wild things. A working dog keeps predators away - a very important job since we live in the woods! There is lots of parking, and while the road looks like it is taking you through a national forest, a 2 wheel drive car will get you here in most weather situations (excluding snow.) We, Jaimie & Dave live in the house at the top our sustainable 12 acre homestead, and while we work Monday - Thursday are available evenings and weekends if you need anything. The shipping container home is just one of the spaces available at Highland & Company Acres, but we work hard to make every guest feel welcome and strive to make your stay the best it can be! Sig, our Great Pyrenees livestock guardian is a working dog and keeps all of our animal friends safe come morning. He loves all the love, but takes his job seriously, especially at night. Located just minutes from I5, yet tucked at the end of a wooded private road, Highland & Company Acres is a small piece of paradise that allows you to feel like you are miles from the city. While our homestead is a perfect place to unwind and recharge, Kalama has a wonderful marina with beautiful sandy beaches along the Columbia River, or enjoy a day on the Kalama River, drive the scenic gorge or visit Mt. St. Helens. Highland & Company Acres is the perfect spot to end your day after exploring and adventuring. Our homestead is at the end of a 3/4 mile gravel road that meanders through the woods. A car will make it just fine. Please drive 10 miles an hour and watch for other vehicles, although there are few of them :) There are pull off's along the driveway if needed. The property includes a large container garden directly across from the Shipping Container house, where you are welcome to taste and sample, a greenhouse, berry patch, orchard, a fire pit and hammocks, just to name a few of the many amenities. The Chickens and ducks are always entertaining and are protected by their guardian, Sig, a great pyrenees. Oh, and fluffy coos, the Highland Cows that beg for snackies and their picture taken! If you are interested, farm fresh eggs are also available :)
