Mountain Cottage

The ultimate mountain retreat—a minute from the river—complete with linens, towels, gas BBQ, and a quaint kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, and professional Viking Range. Relax on the deck...fly fish in the world class Stanislaus River…hike along the river to the Strawberry Inn…swim, boat, fish or see a movie under the stars at Pinecrest lake…mountain bike down the railroad grade to Twain Harte…or explore miles of wilderness trails. Perfect for a romantic getaway or retreat with friends. In addition to the two bedrooms and two queen beds, there is a double futon in the living room that could accommodate two more people. I provide clean linens and bedding for the queen beds, but you would have to bring your own for the futon if you decide to use it. Also, Verizon is the most reliable cell service in Strawberry so please check with your provider to see if they serve Strawberry. The two bedrooms share a common wall and you walk through one bedroom to get to the other, so be willing to share the space if you plan to use more than one bedroom. Also there is a step up from the bedroom to the living room. We live in Sonoma County but will quickly respond by phone if questions arise. Sorry I can't be there to cook you breakfast, but I'll leave Starbucks Coffee, lemonade, and homemade banana bread for you to enjoy. This is a wonderful mountain community, where you can view a magical starlit night. Since there are no street lights, please bring a flashlight if you plan to arrive after dark. There is one parking space next to the cabin and space below for two additional cars. The only electric heat source is a wall heater in the living room and a space heater in the back bedroom, neither of which is usually needed in warm summer months. Also, there is no cable service, but there are numerous DVDs and videos for you to watch on a flat screen TV. Also, there is no wifi at the cabin, but there is at the Strawberry Inn for a nominal fee.
