Welcome to Camp SydneyLand! Stay in a sweet little time capsule and hang with the donkeys. Our roomy and comfortable Avion travel trailer sits out in one of our back pastures overlooking the pond. Enjoy some pastoral time away from the grind. Breathe some fresh air and listen to the birds. Our 31 acres provides plenty of room to roam. Walk our wooded trails. Hang out at the pond. Visit with our pasture pets. Who knew goats and donkeys could be so friendly? Re-opened after the winter, our Big Avion is ready for you. No camper amenity is spared: large fridge, working cookstove, microwave, good heat and air, and it even has a radio and CD player (remember those?). The bathroom is large and many of the closets are cedar lined. The bedroom feels like an old sleeper car on a train and is outfitted with real mattresses. The bathroom has an actual tub and shower and plenty of light. There is a double chaise futon in the living room that makes into a full sized bed. The dinette table also folds down to make a twin bed if needed. Curtains ensure privacy but who wants to miss the view? Look out and take in our large hay pasture and in the morning, visit with our friendly donkeys and goats. The fenced railing around the deck keeps them out of your breakfast. The kitchen has most everything you will need for cooking your meals. We leave kitchen essentials like coffee and tea, sugar, waters, and eggs. (Did we mention the chickens over in the barn yard? They don't like to be picked up but are a wonderful afternoon meditation all in themselves.) Park your car right next to the camper. Do your morning yoga practice on the deck. Sit out under the awning and enjoy an afternoon beverage by the grill. After dark, build a small fire in the communal firepit and watch the moonrise. WiFi is available in the camper through your personal mobile hotspot. We have a Mifi that can be rented--$5 a day --just let us know if you need it. Or you can walk up to the barn and sit in there and use our free guesthouse wifi. Please note: the Mifi is great for surfing the web but streaming will burn through data packages like nobody's business. If your intention is to watch movies, let us know so that we can charge for that according to the cost of the data. You will be sharing the pasture with other campers in other units—The firepit is communal, the pond park is for all. We ask the everyone be courteous to each other by observing quiet hours and sharing space in a friendly way. It is important to be clear that the camper is parked in one of the pastures that serves our farm animals. We bring them out in the morning and they come and go during the day. They are friendly and curious and gentle. We will provide instruction about how to safely interact with them if you choose to do that. In the afternoon, we bring them up to the barn to eat and leave them in the two upper pastures. That is when campers can have the area to themselves. Our main guesthouse and little Silver Streak up past the barn are booked most of the time. You can expect to run into other folks walking the pasture and woods and visiting in the barn. Looking to hike? We are 25-30 minutes from all of Lookout Mountain’s delicious hiking trails and parks. You can even avoid Chattanooga traffic to get there. The Battlefield has trails and is 2 miles away. The Pocket Loop is never crowded and is 30 minutes south of us. We have lots of recommendations. Rock Town for climbing is about 25 miles south. Our camper guests have their own space but the barn, the pond, the wooded trails, and the pastures are available to all the guests staying on the farm. We welcome folks into the barn at feeding times so you might share goat time with others. Our whole property is there for guests to enjoy. We live on the property and are around pretty much all the time. We love visiting with guests but will give you space if privacy is what you want. Other guests on the property may feel the same. We ask that we all be respectful of each other. Access to the camper is though a gate into the pasture. This gate must be manually opened and closed and secured each time guests go through. We don’t want our goats and donkeys to get out of this area. Bring good walking shoes. It is a pleasure to walk the tree line around our 31 acres and venture into the woods as well. We have cut trails through about 4.15 acres of thick woods filled with amazing cedars. There is a canoe you are welcome to paddle around the pond in when it is high. The roosters start early. The donkeys will bray when it starts getting light if we don’t get out there with breakfast soon enough. It’s a farm. They are a big part of what makes it wonderful. We regret that dogs are not allowed at this listing. Being out in the pasture, we don’t think it is a good idea for guests to have their pets with them. We love dogs and our other listings are dog friendly. If you are traveling with younger children please be aware that the camper is not childproofed and that the steps from the deck into the interior do not have a hand rail. The camper is really not suitable for active toddlers. Chickamauga is a historic town where a decisive Civil War battle was fought. The Chickamauga Battlefield Park is fantastic and just a couple of miles away. We are a farm community --cows and \horses. Some suburban sprawl but mostly just green fields. Chattanooga is only a 20 minutes drive. The West Chickamauga Creek has a put in on our street if you are inclined to spend a day floating in a canoe or kayak. You can rent bikes from a place just north of the Battlefield and spend some time riding through the 5400 acre park--or hike through it on the trails. Lookout Mountain is 30 minutes away for great hiking and some old tourist standbys--Ruby Falls and Rock City. Please be assured that we are following VRBO’S guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting between guests. Our other VRBO listings are "Unique Farm Guesthouse -#1313036, "Cowboy Guesthouse -#1385824, “The Just Right #2357857, and “Cute Vintage Camper in a fun farm setting #2071422. Check those out, too. We are on Instagram @littlefrogadventures and Facebook at SydneyLand Farm.
