The Miller's House is a quaint and beautiful, newly restored two-bedroom house that sits on a small river and is also a national historic landmark. The house has been painstakingly restored over the last 18 months, with modern amenities you'd expect such as all-new appliances and high speed WiFi. Proximity to the Gunpowder Falls for fishing or tubing, the NCR trail (less than .2 mile away) and endless roads to bike on make it a great escape. There are so many reasons to enjoy the Miller's House -- the sound of the nearby river, a peaceful lunch looking into the woods, the wavy glass of the restored windows, the claw foot tub -- and that's just on the inside. Right outside is the ongoing restoration of a pre-revolutionary grist mill, which is open to the public and has regular, amazing workshops and classes which you can find on their website. There are also an endless number of curiosities to fill your imagination -- be it hundreds of barrels, gears as tall as two people, and a barn that's also being restored. While there is fast wifi, we purposefully left out a television so you could use your stay for a mental retreat, read a book and enjoy the country. Please note that this listing is not listed as "pet friendly", but if you need to bring a pet, please let us know so we can be sure the property can accommodate. Additional cleaning fees may also apply. The house is easy to find, just off Monkton Road, and parking is available right next to the house. The Miller's House is tucked away along a lively river in rural Northern Baltimore County. Just over the hill is Monkton Village, where you can find the Monkton Hotel, home of a great cafe as well as a place to rent bikes and tubes to float down the Gunpowder. Parking is provided at the hotel, too, so you don't have to worry about finding a spot! There are lots of great places to visit nearby, including Ladew Gardens, a polo match if it is season, and The Manor Tavern, among many others! Please note that there is an active restoration happening of the grist mill next door. This means there's usually something very interesting and fun happening that you can check out, and usually can snag tour both during open hours and if someone is around working on site. There are great workshops and classes running already which you can check out on the (Website hidden by Airbnb) website.
