Lost Man Creek Hideaway/jacuzzi tub/Sauna

Welcome to Orick, California, one of the most beautiful areas you will ever see. Our little green valley is known as the southern gateway to Redwood National and State Parks, but we are actually surrounded by park land in every direction. Please join us for uncrowded beaches, quiet lagoons, moderate temperatures, the freshest air and the tallest trees in the world. After a day of activities you can come home and relax in a Jacuzzi bath tub or just sit around a huge firepit in the backyard. Find that much-needed peace and quiet on this private coastal home nestled on six acres of Northern Coast terrain between mountain ridges and towering redwoods. The beauty doesn't end at the towering trees, as Prairie Creek and Lost Man's Creek run directly adjacent to the property as well. Step inside, and you will be greeted by the unique wood paneling, open layout, and coastal vibes that are hard to beat. When everyone builds up an appetite from a day of hiking or surfing nearby, the chef of the group can jump into the fully equipped kitchen and make a special meal for all to enjoy. Don't worry about chilly winter nights, as the forced air heat will keep you toasty. Not to mention, a firepit awaits to listen to the crickets and reminisce with loved ones until the stars come out! As the crow flies the ocean is 1 mile away. The closest beach is 7 miles away. It is quite large. It is located south of Orick. I spoke with Bruce, the Owner of Geneva Camp. This place is actually Geneva Camp's Lost Man Creek Hideaway, located in Geneva Camp. I asked Bruce what brought him here and this is what he told me. He said about 25 years or more ago Bruce use to come fishing at the Klamath River for Perch. At the same time his son was attending Humboldt State. One day he saw the place for sale and after looking at it he fell in love with the place. So he told his wife about it and they decided to buy it. He has been here ever since. He said it was quiet and peaceful. Geneva Camp is "where the fun begins". If you want to be angry or upset, do not come here because this is where the fun begins or if you come here you can be angry or upset after you leave. He told me the roofs of the 5 houses here on the property represent a story. The 5th house has a snow cap and the 1st house has the ocean. It has 7 rivers in between it that lead to the ocean. "It is art", that is what he told me. He designed it himself. Bruce is a lover of pets, kids and people. He is an all around real great and down to earth guy. He heard about airbnb and decided to share his home with others, anyone who wanted to come here. There is so much to see and do here that I think you would have to keep coming back to to see it all. So we hope to get return people year after year. We are in the heart of the california Redwoods, surrounded by National and State Parks. We are the ideal location for travelers! We have a jaccuzi bath tub and a sauna for your relaxationafter a long day. We even give you relaxing bath salts, so you can soak and unwind after a busy day! Guests can access the entire property. It is entirely for them. During your stay we respect your privacy, but are fully available to give support or suggestions to make the most of your stay. You can visit Alberta at the "Office" if you should have any questions or needs. Her place is clearly marked on the property. When you stroll into the property your place would be a turn to the right and her place would be a turn to the left. She is in a brown RV towards the end. Please be aware that we have free range chickens. If your pet is prone to chasing animals then we ask you to use caution when your pets are outside or when you have the front door open. We do not want anything bad to happen to our pets. Thank you for your understanding. Located directly in between Redwood National and State Parks and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park you'll be surrounded by endless opportunities to adventure through the forests, rivers, beaches, meadows, and prairies that make this a prime location for wild elk viewing. Hundreds of miles of the pristine emerald forest lie literally at your doorstep as well for dreamy days of wandering on trails. Plus, Redwood National Park, Prairie Creek State Park, Lost Man's Creek Trail, Tall Trees Trail, Lady Bird Johnson Grove, Prairie Creek Trail, Fern Canyon, Gold Bluff's Beach are all within five minutes of your front door. You can also see the Redwood forest on horseback where you can take a guided ride in the national park. Water sport and fishing enthusiasts will enjoy visiting nearby Big Lagoon, Stone Lagoon, and Freshwater Lagoon, where you can kayak, swim, sail and fish. You can even Kayak down the Klamath River and fish. See our House Guide Book on how you can do this. In the summer, Orick hosts the Orick Rodeo, a one of a kind rodeo sporting event. At nearby Patrick's Point State Park, the Yurok tribe hosts Summer Village Day, a celebration of Native American culture and customs. There is plenty of parking for your you and your guests. You can bike around the neighborhood or call a cab or even take a public transit. You will probably be visited by Elk at some point in your stay. They like to just come hang out on the property and may even be just outside your window. Just remember to keep your distance and do not interact with them or try to feed them. They are a wild animal. They can be unpredictable and dangerous and very magnificent all at the same time. If there is ever a time that you need to leave and they are outside just give us a call. To help not spreading the Clovid 19 virus we block out 1 day before and after each booking. We also follow the guidelines with AirBnb Enhanced Cleaning Protocol. Our place is pristine!!! Our Sauna is now working so the beach towels we have allocated for the sauna are located in the bottom drawer of the master bedroom.
