Our brand-new guest cottage is an architect-designed tiny home for 2, in a peaceful rural area. It is just 28 minutes from beautiful Kings Canyon National Park. There is a view of meadows and guests are welcome to stroll the half-mile around the property and view the sheep, dogs and horses. Birdlife is abundant and nearby is Cat Haven ( featuring lions, snow leopards etc.). Besides great hiking in the Park, the Kings River has white water rafting and Yosemite is within reach for a day trip. Your tiny home is set up for 2 people and comes with outdoor chairs and table, BBQ, umbrella, outdoor shower, etc. Inside you have a queen bed, kitchenette with fridge, microwave, hot plate, kettle and coffee machine, small dining table, and small closet. The bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet. There are USB outlets for your phone and tablet. You have to have a car to get anywhere around here. You can check in and out without ever seeing us, or we can come down and give advice about the local attractions. We are available to solve any problems during your stay. The main driveway runs past the tiny house so we may wave at you as we go by. We speak, English, Dutch, Afrikaans, some Spanish, and some German. This is a rural neighborhood about an hour from Fresno. You can shop for basic supplies here, get gas, eat out, go for coffee etc. Things are generally quiet and laid-back. We are close to HWY 180 for easy access to Kings Canyon and Hume Lake. Please note that although you are far from the main house, there is another rental 50 yards away so its not like you are completely isolated. It's hot here in summer so we have shady trees and an excellent mini-split a/c. Temperatures are much lower in Kings Canyon NP where most of our guests spend the day. You must have a car to get around. Kings Canyon/Sequoia charges $35 per vehicle for 7 days of access. If you are going to visit any other national parks we recommend getting the annual pass for $80. It is 28 minutes to the park entrance, 53 minutes to Hume Lake, 1h20min to Cedar Grove (in the canyon itself), and 1h10min to Lodge Pole visitor center in Sequoia. l Officially we don't provide breakfast, but you might find some things in your kitchen! There will be tea and coffee. You might find some breakfast goodies (yoghurt, instant oats, etc), fruit from our trees, etc. There is generally enough to get you through the first morning.
