MAIN HOUSE: Upon entering the approximately 4,000 sq/ft., center-hall colonial style main house, you will immediately notice the original wide plank, pumpkin pine floors that extend throughout the entire home. Inside the sizable farmhouse kitchen, complete with brand new GE appliances and quartz countertops, you will have everything you need to prepare a true country feast with friends and family. Have breakfast at the kitchen table made by Hay, or cross the hall for your meals at the dining room table which seats 10 comfortably. In the home’s library, play a record and cozy up with a good book, or cross the hall into the living room and watch your favorite movie on the oversized projector TV. Here, the large couch converts to a queen size sleeper, offering the ability to add a comfortable room for two additional overnight guests. Upstairs, you will find three generously sized bedrooms and a home office. Bedroom 1 has a king bed and its own en suite full bathroom. Across the hall in bedroom 2, there are two full beds allowing for more guests, while still maintaining ample space and comfort. Bedroom 3 has a queen mattress that sits on a Scandinavian style Floyd platform bed. The cozy home office is where you can take advantage of the high speed WiFi and working space, but it can also include a full size sleeper, available upon request. GUEST COTTAGE: Enjoy some extra privacy and space in the newly renovated, 3 floor guest cottage. Just steps from the main house, this charming cottage has been lovingly restored and updated with new and original flooring, and an elegantly renovated kitchen complete with GE appliances. Upon entering the cottage, you will find yourself in the living room where you can cozy up by the fireplace with a good book, or watch your favorite movie on the flat screen TV mounted above. Upstairs, you will find the loft style bedroom with a full size bed, ample closet and dresser space, and the bathroom with a new walk-in shower. On the bottom floor you will find the fully updated kitchen, complete with custom made barn doors that enclose the washer/dryer and extra pantry space. ** Note, the cottage is available to rent as an optional add on when booking the main house. Should you wish to book the cottage, an additional nightly fee of $250 will apply. The area: You will not only fall in love with The Old Poor Farm’s historical significance and charm, but also the area. The Old Poor Farm is: • Situated in the middle of The Sourland Mountain region with the best hiking trails in the state, including Woosamonsa Ridge Hiking Preserve (1 mile away). • Cheers with your friends or family at Hopewell Valley Vineyard (1 mile away) or at Sourland Mountain Spirits (10 minutes away). • 15 minutes from the town of Princeton and renowned Princeton University • 15 minutes from Lambertville dubbed “The Antiques Capital of New Jersey” and where George Washington famously crossed the Delaware with his army. Lambertville also has amazing restaurants to choose from for brunch, lunch and dinner, and many are “BYOB”. • 15 minutes from New Hope (yes, you can make your way to PA that quickly!), a historic artsy cultural and culinary destination that attracts visitors for the riverside dining and nightlife, shops, acclaimed theater, historic home tours, and carriage rides along the Delaware River. • 45 minutes from Philadelphia • 90 minutes to NYC • 90 minutes from Pocono Ski Resorts • In the Summer months, head to The Quarry Swim Club (5 minutes by car) and swim in the area’s largest natural swimming quarry, complete with a low and high jumping platform for the adrenaline seekers.
