Lake View A

It's the lake view that's enticing, seeing it from most rooms. An amazing retreat filled with antiques, ducks, geese, and swans glide before your eyes. Watch deer sleep, eat and play "Follow the Leader". Overhead, following the eagles, hawks, herons, (Website hidden by Airbnb) many different birds... can cause you whiplash. I live in one wing of house, away from all. I do use same front door as guests. I'm there for all questions or problems but otherwise self-contained. No parties allowed or animals The house is decorated mostly with 1930's art deco, comfortable couches and antique treasures. I live on half an acre, room for games on the lawn as well as a sense of privacy. When it's chilly outside, it great to use the living room's gas fireplace or make a fire outside, either in the copper fireplace near the front door or in my large fire pit out back. The lake has no boating but there is limited swimming. 5 min. to Palisades Mall, 10 min. from Nyack, NY and the Upper West Side of NY is 35 min., without rush hour. Bear Mountain and West Point are close by. Area activities include hiking or biking Hook Mountain and canoeing or kayaking the Hudson River, among others. For public transportation, there's direct trains to NYC from Tarrytown, 15 min away but during rush-hour, it takes much longer to get across Tapanzee Bridge. Another train is in Pearl River, 10 min. away, without worrying about bridge but have to change lines. There's also buses to local cities as well as NYC. When water is used, you can hear a few minutes of the pump going off. There's only one bathroom for all the bedrooms to use, unless someone needs mine.
