Come relax, bike, hike, ski, or simply enjoy time with family and friends while staying at this private mountainside retreat. *Winter Season* House located on mountain road that may need AWD/ 4WD during winter weather. A beautiful, chalet style house, our home features large windows, wood floors, and an open floor plan. You can enjoy time outdoors on the large deck which includes a fire pit, smoker and grill, dining table, and plenty of comfortable seating. If you’re not out skiing on cold winter days, gather around the wood stove or lounge on the comfortable sectional upstairs while watching your favorite show. The kitchen features new appliances and is stocked with all the cooking essentials, cookware, and silverware you may need. Brew a complimentary coffee or a cup of tea. The open dining area and living room make for an excellent gathering space, and the dining table comfortably sits 8-10 people. If you are visiting during cooler months and wish to use the wood-burning stove, we supply ample wood to use during your stay. In the upstairs family room we have a projector smart TV with Roku streaming services. The house is also well stocked with board games, puzzles, and books. The washer/dryer are available in the basement. There are five bedrooms: 3 king beds, 1 queen bed, & 1 full bed. The larger upstairs bedroom also contains a futon and a smart TV. Each bedroom is equipped with a separate thermostat and plenty of room for luggage. We have four sound machines & earplugs available, as sounds carry easily with open beam, hardwood ceilings. Strong wifi (300 Mbps/ 35 Mbps) is available throughout the house and the property has decent cell phone service. The driveway is long, sloping up to the house with a parking area to accommodate about three cars. Turning around at the top of the driveway is tight so keep that in mind if more cars are parked. During winter months, large amounts of ice & snow can overwhelm those clearing roads & driveways. However, this only happens a few times during the season. Additional items available for children’s safety are available, including gates for around the woodstove and stairwell and outlet plugs which you may install at your discretion. However, you only need to take a two minute drive down the mountain to get to the grocery store, coffee shop, or to pick up takeout. Mount Creek Resort is only a four minute drive away and offers a variety of winter sports and summer activities. Rather than a condo or hotel, this private spot is a quiet getaway where you can enjoy nature while still having easy access to all the area’s amenities. Vernon, New Jersey is next to the Appalachian trail and Mountain Creek Resort. You can explore nearby hiking spots, state parks, and golf courses, and the shops, wineries, and restaurants of the charming town of Warwick, NY are just a short drive away. Whether you enjoy winter sports, summer hikes, or exploring small towns, you’ll find plenty of great options in the area.
